the SM58 been used since the 60s I think. Many youtubers/streamers/singers still buy the SM58 for $100 in 2020. Crazy to think how far video has come, but audio only got a few new upgrades
He also had plenty of loyal venture capital money that got his back throughout the ups and downs....But, above all, he took a chance and it paid off....
I thought this was 2018 or something speech, until I looked at the address and saw 1998, he was so far ahead of his competition no wonder he’s the richest now
This is exactly the kind of content I was looking for... J.Bezos on his own words, out of kinda 'romantic' stories. Many truths spoken, which we take for a granted reality in the present; it must have been exciting having been on that room at that moment. Thanks for sharing this!😉👍👍
These old videos are important to watch again, because they enlighten you about what to look for in a founder. There will continue to be many startups and businesses being setup in the near future. And we want to be able to identify the ones with the most potential for future success; starting with how passionate and dedicated their founders are
Amazon's catalogue would have been the size of 40 NYC phone books in 1998! Wow, not gonna forget that soon. That's like buying the Encyclopedia Brittannica and paging through it rather than driving to the nearest bookstore
He called the internet "Primitive Infant"Technology in 1998. It's almost as if he had a 30 year vision of his company and the internet and he saw how "shitty" the internet is from 1998.
@@jasdeepsingh6568 Ah yes, another attack at producers and capitalists, with no solution or alternative other than living in a sense of moral superiority while bathing in ignorance for how the labor markets work.
This guy is on the frontier of the internet and has no idea of its potential but excited to take full advantage and fast forward to today drops his wife and same day gets with his side chick . Dont underestimate this tech geek.
He was very aware of the potential of the internet. As he mentions in this speech, the use of the internet was growing 2300% yoy and he as a TED talk (link provided) where he compares early stages of other industries and compares it to the internet. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vMKNUylmanQ.html Tech Geek and Visionary !
That opening speech guy with the Boston accent reminds me of the lawyer from the Simpsons. Not lionel hutz, the other guy, with the glasses who always defends Mr Burns.
they would also be scum for participating in the rise of one of the most notorious robber barons of all time. i'm a trader but amazon is a hard pass for me. don't need it, don't want it.
@@andrewgarcia3136 If you are a trader you are a piece of shit. You are the worse of the worse, you destroy value instead of creating it. Bezos created the best online marketplace and the best most reliable cloud computing service mankind has ever known, he did all of it within 25 years, and now he's building the space market of tomorrow. What did you do for society in 25 years you nobody piece of shit.
A.B. Dick: Every highschool craziness I ever did, 1957 to 1961, was made possible by their machines! (Actually not quite: I may have done one or two things in methyl blue off a sheet of gelatin -- so I knew enough to be impressed by the Dick machines. Thank you, then-kyew, honestly, Thank You, A.B. Dick corporation!) 1998 is roughly about when I sent my fifth Amazon purchase back for a refund -- but told them on the phone that the first four had been so good I really wanted them to succeed.
we call that a visionary. damn... nowadays its AI that will be the next big thing, i'm 100% sure... 10years from now, whoever build something around AI ideas It would be the next huge hit.
😂$2 MIL by his parents in 1996 (public library records) prove that making even 10 tech startups with it, could've been possible, out of which easily 3 could've been listed on nyse. STOP #hero #worshipping
Do you.. not know what venture capitalists are? Asking his parents to invest is a favor to them, it allows them to profit off the business. If it weren't for his parents, by 1996 he could have absolutely taken the existing business to some VC's and secured the same funding. Your point is moot.
@@user-oj4iz9gb9m you have no idea what I'm saying, do you? I didn't say they were VCs. Of course we aren't VCs, neither is Bezos. A VC is somebody who makes it their business to invest in other businesses. I don't think you understand what that is or what we're talking about here. My point was that if his parents didn't invest 2 mil some VC would have gladly.
