He Played at Cowboys in Lake Charles, La. I was the DJ playing during his Breaks. He was super Kind to all of us Employees at Cowboys. I’ve backed up a bunch of famous folks, Some full of Talent, the most talented ones had lots of Hurt. I could always tell who lived what they sang and your Dad certainly lived the hurt he sang about. I’m sorry you had to live it too.
Such a great song! This is yet another fine example of that great early 90's neo-traditional country sound, and I absolutely love his voice. What a shame that this wasn't a big hit. Really wish it was on Spotify!
I wrote this song with Lee Bach. Though it's not listed in Whitburn's Billboard charts book, it did appear on the singles chart. At that time the chart had 100 positions, and this record debuted at #60, a great feat. The week after it came out, there was a shakeup at Mercury Records of their promotion staff, and the new staff blew this one, and it was out of the charts after a week. He was a great talent let down by the inept people who make their living off creative people's talent.
Very good singer I was still around it a shame hes dead I just found this guy on youtube I was looking up jeff knight he just a good as jeff chance god bless his family
Now that's real country music not like today's country that is a load of crap if you don't have that steel guitar or fiddle backing up the artist it's not real country this guy could put today's artist to shame
