I agree with the decision about the score points , even tough Zarate score a clean knock down on the first . But he was robbed . There was not an intentional head butt or accidental head but , there is nowhere to be seen such thing . It was a punch and that is considered a TKO with no need to go to the score cards. Not to mention the rabbit punches that Fenech was landing on Zarate intentionally .
That referee was spending a lot of time in Fenech's corner even before he stopped the fight. What were they talking about? Do you need me to bail you out of this one?
The first round Fenech did NOT slip. It was a knock down. You can see it by watching his legs(feet). It was a knock down. And where was the head butt ? It was by a punch. This fight should have won by Zarate, not Feneck.
... and where is the low blow by Zarate? Take points away from Fenech's rabbit punches instead !!! That was intentional and very dangerous foul. Fenech could fight, but he's always been a dirty figher.
Zarate was just starting to come on, and to stop a fight due to an unintentional headbutt it would have had to be a very serious cut ABOVE the Eye in which impair the vision of Jeff. And it wasnt. Zarate was coning on, and Jeff just kept doing what he knew how to. BAD decision, very bad!
When I was a teenager somehow we got tickets to one of Zarate's title defenses, sat three rows back from the ring. Man, he was vicious. I remember he was completely silent, he didn't make any whistling sound effect noises with his mouth when he threw punches. Not even with his shoes when he moved in the ring. Just the "POP' of his punches to the head and body. Unforgettable.
@@javiergonzalez9077 Man I loved your description of Carlos. Great stuff Javier. Carlos had easy power almost effortless. Lucky you to have sat so close to the little master. Great memories for you my man.
@@raycolin689 Fenech was never tough, really this fight was stolen from Zárate and that he was already 40 years old, a little younger and Fenech would not have tickled him.
Not one of Fenech's better fights, but Zarate later in life said he thought Fenech could've hung in any generation. So I'm assuming Zarate felt something too... shipped damage as it were, anyway, Fenech took a huge amount of left hooks to the liver/body... but he seemed rather unaffected ...tough guy for damn sure.
This fight was one of the most bizarre and biased I have ever witnessed. Talking about NATIONALISTIC scenes. Man, how Carlos Zarate was robbed of a fight. The crowd was biased, the referee was biased, the doctor was biased, even the boxing announcers commenting and calling the fight. It was INSANE! Jeff Fenech got dropped 14 seconds in the first round and the referee called it a slip? What the fuck was that? Plus, I didn't see a damn headbutt for this fight to be stopped. That cut was under the eye, not above it. Fenech could continue. But, I think that his cornermen were afraid because they seemed to look that Zarate was coming on strong even though he got dropped in the third stanza. Zarate didn't get no help from the referee. This fight should have been done in a neutral turf, not in Australia.
It is correct, the organizers of the fight were terrified to see how Zarate was gaining ground and little by little he began to look better, Zarate not only leveled off but he did not begin to look better despite the help that Fenech received, without a doubt one of the most brazen robberies in history
At this time way over his prime Zarate had stopped being a good business. Everything was set up for fenech to win. Very obvious favoritism, by the referee and the speakers.
What a robbery!!! When have we seen a fight stopped for a cut UNDER the eye? 😂😂😂. The corner knew Fenech was going to be in a long, hard fight and they knew Mexicans are known for their stamina and get stronger as the fights go. This was an obvious premature and strange stoppage, made me lose respect for Australia boxing!!! Even the old HOF’er Zarate still had a good chance of coming back and the Australians didn’t want to see that, SMH!!!
That fight stolen from zarate! Fenech was breathing heavy and probably was going to be ko' d! Referee saved fenech! First intentional head butt, then changed to accidental so fenech could win! Don't fight in australia!
@@JohnDoe-zo2yq Fenech won 3 world titles in different weights he fought with broken hands for 8 years ,he was robbed in the first fight against Nelson.Your the pussy for calling a tough fighter that in the first place .Broken hands not hand you big mouth ..
Have you never listen to Aussie commentators before? They All are so one-sided it's a joke!! Total wankers, and cry babies! Even when they lose the excuses and finger pointing is epic! Just listen to any Aussie cricket commentators , it's funny !!!
