The wrestling guillotine is known as "The Twister" in submission grappling because "guillotine" is the name of the front choke. Eddie Bravo introduced it to submission grappling since he used it in high school wrestling.

What technique did he use in high school wrestling? What was it called? The guillotine. Been around alot longer than submission graplling. Just because someone from BJJ felt it needed a new name, doesn't mean it's the name of of folks that know it's real name.

The only reason a different name was used was because the word "guillotine" in bjj was occupied by a different move, and not because anyone's trying to take YOUR credit. "Twister" makes more sense anyway, but you can go ahead and call it anything you want. Nobody cares.
