This video was filmed at Capitol Records for Goldblum's first Jazz Album. Goldblum had been playing at small club/venues in the CA area, they wanted to replicate that ambiance for this video, so they built the set to reflect a jazz club feel. This song was released as the lead single for his debut album

Goldblum has had a residency at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles for decades. They recreated that atmosphere in a studio setting by opening up Studio A and Studio B at Capitol Studios to one another. This is something that might normally be done to accomodate an orchestra to record a movie soundtrack. The interaction between Jeff and Haley felt "right" because Haley was the one driving it. He was simply reacting. I'm not sure he expected it at all. They had only met for the first time a day or two before this recording.

Somebody filled Haley's head with a bunch of nonsense and as a direct result, she won't sign a record deal with a major record label and even though all the major record labels for years have tried to sign her forever. In any event, at the very least, I wish she would sign a record deal with a jazz record label and come out with an album of jazz standards, not only because I know it would sell, but also so she could get access to performing on network TV and so all her own music can be played on the radio. As Haley is one of the most versatile vocalist in the world. As she can sing the phone book.
