How did this come about: Scott Bradlee and PMJ had already done a cover of this song before he met Haley. A few months later, Haley joined PMJ in Berlin, was only singing her cover of "Habits". Haley being a big fan of 90's music asked Scott if she could give "Creep" a try, she debuted it in Lyon, France, a week later they recorded the video you just watched. The 'original' version that covered the song still hasn't got that many views (Only 2.5 million views in over 7 years), while Haley's version has over 111 million views. Here's Haley's first performance of "Creep" in Lyon, France. Notice the crowd didn't expect it and was silent unltil bursting into applause at the end. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4J7AGfLN67g.html "Rein" like "Mine" by the way A song in colour, Haley's latest PMJ cover after five years was recently released, look up their cover of "Don't Speak"
@@UNCLEMOMO Well my avatar doesn't help, no worries, I'd rather people spend their time on Haley than looking at my mug. For obvious reason the majority of Haley's fans are male, she also has a fairly sizable LGBTQ+ fan base
I'm so glad you have discovered this phenomenal singer! You are now going to go down the Haley rabbit whole. You'll just want to hear more from her after each video you watch. I've been a fan of hers since she was on American Idol(which she should have won)I'm glad I found your channel!
great rection and analysis.. you may want to check out "The Charismatic Voice" in her reaction to this song and breakdown of all the vocal techniques Haley uses!
I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to accompanying you on your global musical voyage. I appreciate the precision of your commentary on Haley's professionalism and mastery of different vocal genres as well as your comparison of her vocal style to that of a singer from Indonesia. I love it when I can make those kinds of connections between different musicians from different places, time periods, and musical genres. In regards to Postmodern Jukebox, I really appreciate how their approach to popular and familiar songs can make them seem new again. In particular, I commend to your attention their version of ELO's "Mister Blue Sky." That video is, as I recall anyway, in color, and their slowed down, jazzy, soulful cover made me stop and listen anew with a greater depth of adult understanding to a song that might otherwise have just remained a familiar and fondly recalled background song from my youth.
@@UNCLEMOMO I'm glad to hear that. I just relistened/watched the video of that performance, in part to see if it lives up to my recollection. And I'm happy to say that it does. PMJ, fronted by the radiant young alto Allison Young, shape it into a torch song of gratitude and yearning, filtered through the colors of twilight.

I met Haley several years ago and actually hung out with her and Casey Abrams for a bit of an afternoon. She's super chill, quick to smile, has great style and always blows you away when she takes the stage. If you enjoyed this, I'd highly recommend you doing a reaction to the duet she did with Jeff Goldblum (yes, the actor). It's a blast! Hope you like. Best wishes from New Orleans! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ipXA9lJzc0.html
@@UNCLEMOMO Of course. She chats with the crowd and isn't afraid of improvising. Instead of a rigidly rehearsed performance, expect songs that are rehearsed but performed in the moment. She's really good at reading the room. When I met her, she was trying to explain what post modern jukebox was. Can't say I understood it when she tried to explain it, but once I saw this vid, I sure did. I've ran several jazz clubs over many years in past, so this was right up my alley. You might want to check out her duet with Jeff Goldblum. It's a kick.
@@jaybourne1185 hi Jay. I had 2 tickets for Chicago, including meets and greets. But Detroit border agents didn’t let me trough (Vaxx). I’m now planning to attend the Albany show. Only 6 hours from home.
