Reds fan, preach it! I cut the cord years ago and am with a streaming service, MLB is the only major sport I can’t watch without requiring a cable subscription.

I agree especially if you are out of Market like on vacation for a time. But there should totally be more free over the air games to watch and be able to watch them as you would have on an app if you aren't home. Especially if the Yankees the Yes Network should be more accessible without needing cable

Not gonna fix the game, only hurts it as the tense moves moments of a close game in the 9th inning won’t have the same merit. They will just happen so fast and you won’t have that buildup of the ending. Plus football games last 3 hours, same as the baseball games last year and still nfl is king. Shorter games don’t make it popular.

@@braytonschafer5606football runs on clocks for quarters as well as a play clock so the action is a little different than baseball!

@@GOATexp the action is what makes the nfl king, baseball just doesn’t have that much. And I believe speeding up the plays will lead to injuries and players getting out of their normal mechanics and routines that they have done for their while baseball career. I’m just a huge baseball fan and had no issues with the speed of the game, I actually enjoyed it. I just feel like this will add more bad then good.

@@braytonschafer5606 I have to disagree there, because in the NFL at the end of the game when they have no timeouts and the clock is winding down, that's EXACTLY when a sense of urgency has to be increased, and that's when all the best moments happen is under pressure, I don't that that worry is legitimate. You're right about shorter games isn't what makes things popular, but in the same vein, yes it absolutely is and here's how. The only forms of sport I follow on a week-week basis like actually watch the events is racing, Sprint Cars and Motocross, and NFL. All of which, I never sit down and watch an entire broadcast, I wait til it's over and watch the extended highlights usually here on RU-vid. You can watch the entire thing in 6-12 minutes. So I say all that to say this, in essence shorter games HAS made those things more popular to me anyway, and I'm not special. Millions of others think the same as I do. The real problem that every major sport has except the NFL is very simple, there are WAYYYYYYYYY too many regular season games. Why on earth are we playing 165 baseball games and playing 16 Football games, and Football has the market effectively cornered? The markets of baseball, basketball, and hockey and all overly saturated, you can't even be a fan of ONE TEAM and see everything!

@@djjazzyjeff1232 yes the two minute drill in football is the best part of the game as the urgency makes it, but baseball is a totally different animal in the 9th inning, the suspense of it for possibly 10 minutes or more is so good and just keeps you on edge. I’m just disappointed that we won’t get that now with the new rule.

Most owners don't give enough, the ownership situation in the MLB is pathetic, The TV situation is pathetic, the lack of a salary cap and salary minimum is pathetic, baseball better wake up.

@@ryant390 what’s bringing me back is shorter games, the quick pace, and no more shifts. Genuinely can be locked into a game Ive enjoyed the spring training games. Hard hit balls up the middle and in the gaps actually get through now with the banning of shifts. Everything you were taught growing up like hits up the middle and pulling the ball turned into everything wrong when they let teams extreme shift.

@@David-vf7if Disagre. Both have killed the game. I played ball through college and love it deeply but the length and slow pace of games caused me to only watch if it’s recorded and I can fast forward through much of it.

20 years ago Barry bonds and arod were tearing up pitching… I don’t think it was necessary. Maybe 10 years ago it was necessary

Disable in the postseason as well. Not completely against it because I'd like more action. But the postseason doesn't need it.

That’s the time when it should be enforced most. It’s the last play of the game. Both sides need to be ready. It’s huge in basketball and it has been a perfectly fine way to prevent boring content. I think it’s great that a team blew their chance to win by not paying attention/knowing the rules.

@@wsmokr I’ve been watching my whole life and played for 20 plus years, you wanna talk about the past 7 years has been boring and that’s strictly because the technology and rules they have put in place the last decade or so, it used to be to get in the HOF you had to be a .300 plus guy and it’s not the case anymore, there’s nothing about being a 5tool player that’s flashy. If your 6’7” and can hit 60 plus home runs then your the best player in the game. If you can hit for launch angle instead of average then your a great player, if you can pitch 4 innings with a high spin rate and pitch at 100 MPH then your a hell of a starting pitcher even if you can’t go more than a few innings, it’s sad when teams put the shift on and guys can’t hit opposite field so now they have to put a shift rule in place so batters can try to get on base more??? Come on these a Professional players they should be able to do it all and they just can’t now a days and the bad part about it is this type of baseball has been pushed down to the little league level and instead of teaching kids how to hit, they are teaching kids launch angle smh it’s ridiculous but it’s the way baseball has been since the MLB out so much into the technology and rules
