Jeff has been a great addition to Collider. He brings a new perspective on the stories on Movie Talk and it is refreshing to hear. Looking forward to the new time slot for Movie Talk and having you folks break more scoops thanks to Jeff.

All that anger and sarcasm took a physical toll on him for sure now it makes complete sense why he doesn't know 70's movies - I've been thinking since that match that was really weird for an 'older' film buff

I think Ken interviewed Harlofff on his podcast, "the Napzok files" 3 years ago. It was a REALLY good podcast, went on for just over an hour. Ken also interviewed Ellis, and a bunch of other people from collider/Schmoes/Screen Junkies. It's a really good podcast feed with lots of interesting behind the scenes drama on schmoes and Screen Junkies when Ken was working there, makes you appreciate Ken for his humor and deep thought SO much more.

Great conversation. Jeff disarmingly open. Very interesting on his transitions between news providers, and liked hearing impressions of different audiences and adjusting from print to video media. Like it when experienced people step back and reflect on how the culture and business of the movie space are changing, as well as recognising its impact on/responses to politics and popular culture. Should link vids and Collider.com articles more in discussions, and maybe have some longer form "the biz" type discussions more often. Average film fans still not really au fait with 'town talk'.

LOL at Sneider submitting questions for the Schmoedown, that's hilarious! I like Jeff, welcome addition to Collider, I like listening to someone who doesn't have the connection to the source material that the others do when it comes to SW and CBM. His opinions come from the POV of a film fan first and foremost rather than a fan of properties or franchises. I like that. I still love the others too!

I was introduced to Sneider via the Schmoedown and thought he was a douche, not knowing if that was really him or a character. I wasn't a fan. But the first time I saw him do a news piece after being hired at Collider, I totally flipped and I think he's awesome! I love his knowledge of the business side of Hollywood. This is a great interview, but if anything, it just confirms Schneider was a jerk his whole life. Which is fine cuz he’s a talented journalist who knows how to operate to get the scoop, but makes for a poor media personality imo. Didn’t know about the Mashable incident before he came to Collider, but c’mon, how can you not see after all these years that #OscarsSoWhite was more than a hashtag and was an actual movement? How can you work in movie journalism and not notice all of the studios deliberately making moves to provide POCs more opportunities in front of and behind the camera in the past 2-3 years? And the academy themselves addressed the issue and started putting more men and women of color into the voting committee because of the lack of representation. I’m not even saying he should have been fired over the article, but dude, read the room. You could have just said you didn’t write the headline and left it at that, but when you went onto twitter and tell your audience “I Don’t Care What You Think” what do you think is gonna happen? You can’t compare your “in the moment” tweets to James Gunn’s tweets from several years before he was hired. Best of luck to Schneider, I’m still a Collider watcher but I’ll still cringe whenever he gives his takes on anything. Hope he’s able to grow as a person in his new position

Mashables was a joke to you, they should have fired the guy who came up with the headline. Honestly don't understand how our government doesn't do anything to stop companies from basically saying they own you. How is it that a company can say they have control over what you can and say when you are not at work?

A idea. I just got finish watching the interview between Kristian Harloff and Jeff Sneider. His story is interesting, I heard he wanted to be a script writer. Why not take your story and do tv shows. Centered around you moving around Hollywood, trying to adapt a book you read in highschool. Set it in the background of journalism, but show the underground part of it. Like in one part of the interview, you said the your friend showed you how to sneak into Sundance. That right there will definitely be perfect for a scene. If you could get the nightcrawler director to direct, perfect match. I know it's a stretch, but it's not impossible. Dream big, but all of this is just an idea. This is your story Jeff Sneider, and you're perfect to sell it.

I'll give him credit for being straightforward. His many firings pretty much confirm what I already thought of him - basically an A-hole. That said, I can't say I hate Jeff "Venom" Sneider, mostly because he isn't Hollywood "fake" and obviously has bona fide credentials. But he still doesn't know how to use a mike when speaking on a Collider youtube panel...
@MarcCoteMusic

He keeps slouching and leaning into the mic... it looks a bit silly and rather amateurish. I pointed this out in the comments section of an episode of Movie Talk but it was either unseen or unheeded.
