For the second time on the channel, we are checking out Jefferson Airplane with their song "Never Argue With A German If You're Tired Or European." I take back what I said about their song "White Rabbit" because this has to be the wildest tune I have ever heard! It did have multiple time signature changes and some great musical moments but I have no idea what the tune is about! Definitely a wild ride! Grace wrote this song after a car accident while racing Jorma Kaukonen on the streets of San Francisco. The lyrics are: Stuck in my thoughts Stuck in my skin Adding my glass with my spitting Don't speak to a German when you're tired My car drives very fast, but it crashes against walls Yes, that's me Yes, that's you You, that's me Try it. She asked a German gentleman who worked at the studio to translate the lyrics for her. Thumbs up to you for giving this song a listen.

They are from San Francisco, part of the San Francisco acid rock scene. I think it's Moog with operatic voices and other sounds. It's based on an incident when they were in Germany being wild. Don't worry, that is their weirdest song, actually thanks to Grace Slick. For more Rock N Roll try "Hey Frederick" with the last third being a great jam session piano, bass, two guitars and drums. Or maybe "Wooden Ships" to hear their harmony vocals. Also recorded by Crosby Stills and Nash, as they co-wrote the song. Compare the two!

This was wild but definitely a fun one! Really appreciate the generosity and the recommendation! They are clearly a very talented group and very innovative! Loved all the time signature changes and the unique composition!

Grace also plays recorder. Maybe there could be a guitar in there, not sure. Pre-prog. In general JA has production that is hard to distinguish instruments. Seems to be on purpose.

Those that speak other languages need to hear rock songs also. Considered today most people around the world have English as their second language. Not the case when they recorded this. So Props as to be so brave. With that said they weren't really any group I listen to much but they were my brothers. So... Her singing reminds me of Lily Von stoop on Blazing Saddles. On a more serious note. A song I really enjoying and appropriate for today is Wooden Ships by Crosby Stills and Nash. Jefferson Airplane was partying on a yacht when they wrote the song. It is post-apocalyptic. And features nice harmonies n excellent guitar work.
