**** An' ye're only now realizing it, Chuck ? It's a little late, dontcha think ? Sae, if ye do like Jorma's good solos, listen tae the song "Rock me, baby" (a classic by Muddy Waters and BB King) on the live album : "Bless its pointed lil' head" (1969) 'cause I feel that yewh will luve. He performs two guitar solos in the same song. But if ye dinnae like it, I'll refund ye...

Great version of 'The House On Pooneil Corners.' Grace is fantastic on this tune. Can't have enough versions of it. The dark sound produced by the choice of chord phrasings is sublime. Man I love Grace's voice. Its like a Syren calling out to me. Just two days shy of Grace performing with the band for a full year. What a year!! LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹

TV was pretty much still all black and white at this time in 1967. It's kray to be able to remember clearly the advent of color television Star Trek and Voyage to The Bottom of the Sea.

Yep. Remember it like it was yesterday. In Dec. '66 pops brought home 3 color sets, one was for my room, and then in Jan.'67 TV broadcasts went color. Pops worked in the industry. Thanx, pops, your connections took me far. LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹

Jack Casady had not yet transitioned from his Fender Jazz Bass to the Alembic modified Guild Starfire Bass which had a stronger top end. It great to hear these songs that would make on to later albums.

And totally awesome performance of it at Woodstock. I have to hear that version everyday. Jefferson Airplane was one of the few bands that did their songs live better than the LP. And just listening to Grace is a sheer pleasure. LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹

Always taken by Jorma's lead guitar developments. Ordered but at the edge of it. An incredibly fast return riff, with holes. It's cool, as always hearing these live gigs and performances by bands like JA, to hear the interplay like the bottom end that Jack Cassady and Spencer Dryden are running here. Kantner, Signe, later replaced by Grace Slick, Balin, Kaukonen, Cassady, Dryden. They had a dynamic going in a time that was Happening! Maybe like right now, as the Concept comes through with the practice, or praxis. Like with these guys. It was interesting musically to grow up at that time. At the time, they were 'underground', which as we all know, becomes 'above ground', like a plant should, and then Return to wherever it was we came from. Anyway, thanks for the musical reflections. I think the 12-string rhythm guitar was Paul Kantner. Cool Bass and drum interplay there at 23:00 and as extended. Bodily Cerebral. It's the road that rock goes down, comes back, and goes around. "Would You Like To Know a Secret?" "Crown of Creation" at the time made me become conscious of The Anthropic Principle. That was part of the purpose, i guess. Just like the rest. I appreciate the way artworks help us uncover the source to answering the question, "Why is there Something Rather than Nothing?" A question happily interrupted by Paul Kantner announcing from the Captain's seat, "Fly Trans-Love Airways; Get you there on time. Fly Jefferson Airplane; Get you there on time." And i must agree. We're All, "Volunteers of America!" "You say you won't know and you won't." Well, Okay Then.
