You had more unity, more black owned businesses. Most of our men weren't in jail. But Jim Crow was not good for blacks. I know he's trying to let the dominate know he is one of the good ones , but don't disrespect us. There are blacks still alive during that time, very dangerous.
Yes, there were ghettos during Jim Crow.. In fact, the government funded the first contracts building homes creating suburbs with the stipulation that Black people, regardless of income, could not buy the houses around the white families, creating the ghettos

I just commented this. My grandma was born in 1938 and she said there were no ghettos in the 60s, black people actually stuck together and two parents were in the house 😮
They were doing better, the family stayed together, many more lived above the poverty line. There was a sense of community back then that doesn't exist today
They STAYED TOGETHER because there were NO OTHER options. Plus, that was the way of life in that era EVEN for Whites. If women (black & white) were physically or emotionally abused they usually TOLERATED the abuse because they were NOT financially capable of providing for themselves or their kids. Black People are to be spoken on as being free and no different from any other Race in America. I am around numerous Races. Black People has been the most supportive with Politics and not afraid to accept free stuff. What does that tell you. Most Black People may not be perfect but most Black People are fully aware that we earned Businesses, money, homes, and a better lifestyle. I work three jobs. I worked three jobs when this fake name was placed on my Oakland, CA. home illegally. I worked two jobs when the apartment I was living in Hayward, CA. committed a self-eviction. The Court Staff, Law Enforcement, and the Prosecutors knew my Union contract was sitting in the Courts because of Judge Charles Smiley and now Judge Nixon at the Oakland, CA. Renee C. Davidson Court. There should not be any excuse from Representatives to remove ALL involved and lock them out of their homes if they support Anyone Else no matter the Race committing that unlawful action towards Anyone Else.
