@Xorotheplug Barnabas was "good" relative to him being a sinner. Jesus was much more "good" because he was sinless and was Adam's perfect counterpart. God alone is the most "good" because he sets the standard for what "good" even is. God is "good" in the ultimate sense. Revelation 15:4 says that God alone is holy, yet Revelation 14:10 calls the angels, "holy angels". Angels are also sinless, but of course that doesn't make them God. If Adam never sinned and used his free will to obey God, that wouldn't make him God. Being sinless doesn't make someone God. In Mark 10:18, while Jesus is obviously "good" (because he was sinless), the whole point is that he humbles himself and redirects the praise towards God.
Why then did Jews pick up stones to stone Jesus in John 8:58 and John 10:29-30, if Jesus never claimed to be God? When Jesus said ‘I and My Father are one’ and ‘Before Abraham was, I AM’, the Jews knew exactly what He was saying and they wanted to kill Him for claiming deity. Jesus spoke to a 1st century Jewish audience who understood all His references and the weight of His claims. It just goes over the heads of us 21st century western readers.

@@danieljakunin4303 the key is in the context of the story in reference (Luke 18:19 & Mark 10:1). A young ruler calls Jesus "Good teacher". Jesus reply shows that, to call Him Good is to acknowledge him as God. If JW believe Jesus is good then it's inconsistent to not acknowledge him as God.

The point is that Jesus decided to humble himself and redirect the praise towards God *_as the ultimate source of goodness_* . Because no matter how good Jesus is, *_God is even greater._*
@@newneo3692 It means that when we abide in Christ, we become one with him, and we grow a communion with him and the Father, for Jesus is the head and we are the body. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
At least Paul says that Jesus is not God THE MAJESTY. You want the exception to break the rule... something that the Bible does not promote or people as intelligent as Paul never promoted by being Explicit.
@@terryfromdayton8201ex jw here, i went up to a few at a cart the other day and asked if they still hold to the belief jesus is the created archangel Michael, the brother answers yes and points me to jude 9 where the archangel Michael is literally getting disrespected by the devil aswell as tolerating deliberate disrespect to God himself. I ask him how this can be Jesus if in Mat 4:11 when Christ commands the devil to “be gone” the devil obeys? How can these be the same 2 figures if in one passage the devil does not respect the authority of Micheal (probably bc they’re both “angels”) but in the other passage he completely obeys Christ. @@ZacharuSkaggs I will deny something so extremely stupid all day every day. Guess what I can't read the scriptures that were inspired by God as He used the holy spirit to have men write the truth about Him and His purpose. Just guess! I can't read the following: Trinity Triune God the son God the holy spirit Three persons in one God Co-eternal Co-Creator Consubstantial All that doesn't originate in the scriptures. @@Failur3i5n0tan0pt1on John 14:7-11 literally contradicts your statement. Jesus himself said "I AM" indicating that he is God manifested into the flesh. Revelation 22:13 "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." Context is key. The guy in the scripture that this refers to was calling Jesus “good teacher” and denying who he truly was, and Jesus was basically telling him “stop all this about me being some good teacher. No one is good but God” and we see clearly in John 10 that the Jews corner Jesus and tell him “you speak in all these parables, tell us plainly what you mean” and Jesus says “I and the Father (God) are one” and they tried to stone him for blasphemy.
Using John 10 doesn’t completely prove your point because if you continue to read in John 10:36, he does plainly say who he was claiming to be, which is the son of God. Most people stop reading or just don’t quote that part.
@@ChildOfMercy I was responding to the comment of someone using John 10 what Jesus actually stated claim was in most people don’t read all the way to John 10:36 where he actually states his claim, “I am the son of God”. That’s one of a few times where he actually literally says it quite clearly.

Jesus said wide is the gate to the path of destruction. The OT warns us not to stray to the left or to the right. Jesus has a God, why would one NOT worship that God?
@@joaquimvictorenriquez1083 please reread that without the Trinitarian filter (blinders) on. Jesus plainly stated he is the good SHEPHERD. In grammar, the adjective GOOD modifies the noun SHEPHERD. So, Jesus is conveying he is good at or the most qualified at shepherding the flock. Shepherding was a JOB in the first century but Jesus' flock of sheep are his believers. If I say, I am a good attorney or software developer does that also mean I am a good MAN? No, I would only be conveying my belief in my skills or knowledge in the area of law or developing software. Likewise, the ruler didn't call Jesus a good MAN, he called him a good TEACHER. The same grammatical rules apply here. The word “good” modifies the word “teacher”, not the person in general. Even though the ruler didn't Jesus as a good man, he still appeared to object to having the label or quality of good attached to him. Strange Jesus would question the man assigning him the label of being a good teacher yet not commend him for appropriately recognizing he is good or as this video wants to suggest he is “God.” Jesus is known to commend people when they answer correctly or make a correct observation. Checkmate!! Never thought to approach it from that angle. If they're claiming Jesus is denying being good, and thus denying being God, just have them declare that Jesus isn't good with their own mouth...they won't, because they fear the wrath of God. Brilliant!
