The key word is "presumptuous". For those who are still active and those who are doing their investigative work, this word he used should strike a chord. Why would he say "presumptuous" knowing full well in their literature they claim to be "spirit directed" by Jehovah, that they've been chosen by Jesus in 1919. He used that word because he knows that's exactly what it is, all they have been doing since Russell is self-proclamation nothing more but the rabbit hole goes deeper. The elders should encourage the sex abuser to turn themselves over to the authorities in order to gain a good conscience. Instead, the matter is swept under the rug and the congregation is not warned that there is a pedophile in their midst and so the pedophile is allowed to socialize among unknowing and unprepared parents with their children running about. Members of the congregation are taught they are in a 'spiritual paradise', being left totally in the dark as to what is lurking in their midst. I would imagine had God's spirit moved the elders to make correct decisions, these hearings would have been avoided.

In the case of a female victim bringing an allegation against an elder, most people would understand that she would be afraid and intimidated, Jeffrey Jackson doesn't really understand or show empathy to a female victim. I was a Jehovah's witness since 1999, I was baptized in Germany a Portuguese congregation, I was disfellowshipped in 2013 Phoenix Portuguese congregation. I was 16 years old and yes You Do Not have a choice, even though I believe that due to the rules or the organization when it comes to the decision of wanting to live, by law under age baptism should be banned, why? Because it's a lifelong punishment & commitment. Jesus used to go to the temple, he knew his father, he is the son of God, he came with that purpose but he was baptized as an Man & not as a boy or teenager, we are called to fallow his footsteps. Imagine how satan could use that against God; he could accuse our God of brainwashing Jesus & trap him in early baptism, and many more things... Our lives are completely turned & changed, the emotional abuse, the way that they label us that no longer believe that they're the chosen ones, they influence how people treat us & our own families, that's abuse & needs to stop.

But they would not question your direction and you know that! This makes my blood boil! I was born in and wasted the first 23 years of my life in this organization and still have family I can't even talk to anymore because of their "direction".

So if the elders determine which scriptures should be read literally and which ones metaphorically then surely that means all the in-congruent flavours of Christianity that focus on different parts of the Bible while discounting others are all based on relatively determined biblical interpretations. No wonder faith in religion produces conflicting beliefs and doctrines. Nothing is absolutely correct in the Bible or any of the various creeds. It's obvious as with the Bible itself. Lets be honest, all the creeds are flawed man made contrivances. What's the point of adhering to the Bible when it fails to discriminate between crimes and sins? Fails to prevent both, in fact often incites sins, crimes and immoral behaviour? Produces so much conflict and misery? What's the point of Religion? If all the various Christian creeds all disagree with every other creed but there own after all of them are reading from the same instruction manual, The Bible? Chaos and Confusion and, Sadly often violence, is what get when you place your life in faith over reason.

I remember when I was a Regular Pioneer that I could answer almost any question with the Bible immediately. Yet here is a member of the Governing Body saying that he has to come back with an answer because he doesn't know either the answer or where in the Bible you can find such a response.

A total eye-opener. The fact that this is just the surface speaks volumes. There's so much more, but this is particularly damning evidence that this is not an organization driven by Jehovah or Jesus. He is extremely evasive and countering the result of the questions and answers rather than simply answering the questions. It's interesting how he keeps saying that not the area of his expertise, but it's things every single JW knows is taught. I'm faded for a 2nd time. Not disfellowshpped,not claiming membership, not desirous of following their rules and regulations. I don't desire any interaction with them. Yet, I have to think about everything that I decide to do because if I do anything the organization doesn't like, I could get a visit and be disfellowshpped. It could be simple as viewing an R-rated movie. If U have a Christmas tree or went to a Christmas party,or say "Merry Christmas", I could be disfellowshpped. There is no way in Earth the elders aren't going to come for you. How does he, on the GB, not know that? He lied. Period. And corporal punishment is not encouraged? My siblings and I were beaten based on those scriptures. Not a few times, but regularly. My brother was being beaten and the neighbors called the police. I have been hit with belts until having welts all over my body, teeth put thru my lips, hit in the head with belt buckles and in my private areas. Our lives were full of physical abuse that was explained as discipline because the Bible says not to spare the rod. I was witness to other witness children in our circle being beaten. I remember being over a friend's house as a family and one of their girls was upstairs being beaten by the mother. My mother actually went up there and was in attendance to this beating. The father and other kids were all downstairs and everyone ignored what was clearly happening. The kids were close in our ages and all girls and we knew the abuse they regularly faced. This was largely because of the organization and the teaching of not sparing the rod. We were literally read the scripture before and after being beaten at times. And now, he says that corporal punishment is not acceptable?? We were terrorized by it, at least I was until the last incident at 14 years old. Not to mention the isolationism that was used along with the beatings. Being punished for weeks on end where you could only go to your room and stay there after school and meetings. The mental abuses were just as severe. There was nowhere we could go, we couldn't do anything and no one was going to risk helping you especially when your father is an elder and your mother is a regular pioneer. Seeing the police leave after my father explained that he was having a "misunderstanding" with my brother was disheartening. They did nothing and my brother basically was afraid to speak out when they were there. I can't imagine the feeling of these children who were abused sexually too. Bring put in a room with the accuser and nothing being done, even making them feel guilty or called liars. The whole culture is one of abuse. The answers given here are egregious. They skirt the question, avoid the question, outright lie and evade. I saw this thinking I would be impressed by the answers given, even though I had been faded for years. I thought I was going to see the way a witness is given. What I got started me on my journey to wake up. In short order I learned about the UN membership, the selling of KHs for money, and the generations changing to overlapping generations. I'm stuck in time as a JW. I couldn't go preach to anyone because a lot of what I learned is no longer taught. That isn't light getting brighter. It's changing the bulb. The impact this organization has had on my life is tremendous. The opportunities missed, the career choices, the financial effects have been great. To see what we were drilled on every single meeting be belittled and made to seem extreme or non-existent by a GB member is disheartening and makes me angry. Ugly, ugly, ugly and not willing to take responsibility. They told us to stand up to the point of losing our lives,but will get on the stand and lie to save their hides and protect the money that we have them to live without working secularly. Selling our KHs we paid the mortgages for, after building them with our hands, and keeping the money.. This cannot be an organization guided by God in any way. There is absolutely no possible way.

I'm glad this came to light. I'm only watching this to know what to say when I see them (jehovas witnesses) this week. They think they will convert me and I think I will convert them. The reason I know Jesus is the way the truth and life is because In the last words of the KJV Bible, New Testament, Revelations, last few words: basically, If anyone adds words to this book, they will be severely punished and Anyone who takes away any words will also be punished. What more is there to say? Considering they always change things in the Bible.

This made me weep. I sobbed and sobbed, nearly unable to stop, from what was said and from all of my personal experiences within this organization. Now I'm going to write a book about it. When we consider Deborah, Abigail, Hannah, Sarah, Esther. . . as opposed to today, where we women are treated like SHIT. TOTAL SHIT. This organization cannot have God's favor, anymore. It is a pity that not all the questions are presented here. The part where Jackson states that only men can be judges and the judge cites Judges 4:4, where Devorah was the judge in Israel is missing. And overall, it's 2023 and we know well that no women have been allowed into the hearings and committees related with child abuse. Seven years later. Because no one truly cares about the feelings of the victims who, according to the rules, have to talk about what happened to them in the presence of the rapist. The main thing is to conceal such incidents in any way possible. So as not to tarnish the reputation of God's “pure” organization.

What happened to "boldly witnessing" to the superior authorities? He isn't doing that at all, and sidestepping the questions or plainly not answering them. When I was a witness, I figured if I went to court, I would defend the truth with all my might. Using the scriptures as my source documents. If you have the scriptures to back you up, why doesn't he boldly proclaim "the truth?" It's sickening and I can't finish this video.

Why a member of the governing body forgets that God does not forbid women to be judges. I can't for the life of me understand Jackson's bizarre hedging on corporal punishment. The jury is out on the effectiveness of corporal punishment, isn't it?
