They were surprisingly warm too each other during the match. Ostapenko kept apologising when she caught the toss on her serve and she clapped a few of Boulter’s shots.
Boulter only won, because chair umpire was on her side and was blind. I hope that umpires won't rob Pegula off of her win against another home crowd favorite Raducanu.

Even though Boulter won the first set, the highlights showed 6 points won by Ostapenko to just 2 by Boulter! Second set 5 points shown for Ostapenko to 4 for Boulter.
I am very happy for Katie she managed to end Penko in this match. It would be nice to actually see more points by her in the highlights because one may be under impression it was Penko who won it.. It seems her relationship with Alex help them both. Both have been really at their respective peaks of the career since they started seeing each other. That seems to be working better than Tsidosa..
Chair umpire stupidity and arrogance is what decided the outcome of this match. A lot of incorrect decisions by this delusional and cheating chair umpire in favor of Boulter just because she is home crowd favorite. This umpire only for Boulter called winners and aces and only for Ostapenko called unforced errors and double faults. This braindead chair umpire favored Boulter over Ostapenko, just because Boulter is home crowd favorite. This umpire clearly was on Boulter's side. A lot of points, games and both sets this umpire robbed from Ostapenko. This criminal of umpire should be fired and imprisoned for such dishonest towards Ostapenko officiating.
@@ieuanwainwright98 Boulter is no grass player compared to Ostapenko. Ostapenko is former Wimbledon Quarter-Finalist and Semi-finalist, former Birmingham and Eastbourne champion. What has Boulter achieved to have the better game? Couple WTA 250 tittles. That's nothing compared to what Ostapenko have achieved. Ostapenko in almost every single edition of this tournament have played at least a Quarter-Final. In this match too Ostapenko was the better player in fact with huge margin, but umpire blindness and stupidity prevented Ostapenko from winning this match. There were numerous bad calls which were made in Boulter's favor.

Huge congratulations to Katie Boulter for dismantling this barefaced and flippant Latvian tennis player in two straight sets. Whoever outclasses Latvian opponent, feeling more comfortable, happier and joyful. A big smile occurs on my face. It is a divine justice to watch the vicious defeat of this Latvian player. A sublime performance from Katie Boulter!
During Katie's post-match interview, the interviewer asked her about "playing against a hard-hitter". It's time for us all to realise that Katie Boulter is a Hard Hitter! She just proved it, YEAH?
She may well have won but Boulter is not in the same post code as Ostapenko...Jelena is a grand slam champion and regularly beats all the top players....I would call this a 'one off' for Boulter...but she played well.
Look at 1:39-1:41 on RU-vid 0.25 times speed with zoomed in screen. That's an excellent example of bad call in crucial moment. The ball was clearly in, but umpire called it as out and such mistakes umpire and Hawkeye made all match.

Katie Boulter is the prettiest WTA player along with Kalinskaya. Her blond pony tail hair makes her even more attractive. She's no excessive fat in her body. Someone mentioned Emma Raducanu is way better than Boulter...come on, comparing a true beautiful face and body, Boulter is a true beauty.
She is much better than The USO 2021 Champion, whose performance since then has dropped drastically, and has never been able to return 'till now. These two ladies seemed to respect each other during the match. There was a scene where Katie was unable to reach the ball from Ostapenko, while running after, Katie shouted loudly to the ball, ''goodbyeeee!!!''.. That was funny I think, it maybe make Ostapenko laugh. Congratulation Katie 👍
The 2021 USO champion has also had SURGERIES to deal with that has hindered her progression. You can like one without disparaging and disrespecting the other. Two things can be done at the same time! 😉
