It seemed only fitting during the quarantine that I would perform some of my favorite songs to help y'all get through these times. This installment features a song from Waylon & Willie, 'Glitter'. The boys and I played these things live without a click track and I hope y'all enjoy the change up. I've always felt making music was very therapeutic for me, and I hope someone who needs this hears it.
We filmed these at the Amber Sound in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm a sucker for a vibe in music - that feeling when a sound completely shifts the mood of a room. This vibe was more like an indie rock house show than a studio, which left me feeling inspired. Let me know what y'all think in the comments below.

I was in a dark room in a trap house with boards on the window,only sunlight was thru cracks of the boards not touching...getting high. Then I heard this song come on, never heard of jelly roll, I sat in a corner getting high listening to this...over and over and over. Now I'm 93 days clean. We will see where this road leads. Robin Williams was a man that loved to bring laughter to people, although he was screaming inside for someone to understand him . Great man he is missed . Glitter is a soulful song that speaks of my past . I often found myself causing pain and worries to my family when all I ever thought of was to show them love but a meth addiction doesn’t stay a secret too long . My family was devastated to see a father fall into a man they didn’t recognize by my actions and accusations. I am redeemed now but I cannot erase the past only look at my present and how I’m a better man . Who ever out there is going through an addiction keep your head up and know it is possible to change your life’s choices for a better tomorrow. God bless you Jelly Roll , you are a modern day prophet cause you bring change and clarity to the cloudy minds that are willing to listen so they can find a Higher Power that loves and forgives us of our imperfections.

love this song. ima 141 days clean today. during the dark times of my life. i had nothing but music to get me thru. ur music inspires me. alot of artist. i hope to meet u one day to let u know how much ur music inspires me an is apart of my journey after living that life for so long. . i recently left to cali to recovery not knowing if this was gonna b legit took me half of year to finally get up an just leave. a day after christmas i called the lady that runs the recovery home told her be exspecting me in january. i did it took a greyhound all the way from oklahoma. took my two little girls with me. im now doing the recovery on my own. i may not have completed the program but im still sober. the girls and i came home during the peak of the pandemic. thats just apart of my story. thank you for making suck amazing music.

My son committed suicide. This was a song he played over and over..I'm torn between appreciating your insight and the impetus that made him do it. We played it at his funeral. A brave move for me as a mother to allow that but his friends wanted it played. I play it often to connect to where he was at that made him think he had no self control...I love you Jelly Roll..and I hate you

Your son killing himself is not anyone fault but the fact that he depressed an didn't get help with it in time. It happens in life. Sorry for your loss but u can't blame others that will only make your pain worse as well.

Music is a powerful influence and the industry is complicit in promoting misogyny, playing into people's depression , struggling relationships, self esteem etc. Don't enter into a debate with me. Although I understand The extremely heightened emotions regarding such an incredibly sensitive, unfortunate, and tragic situation & loss... I must also say I don't feel that hating this individual due to your particular reasoning is beneficial nor logical and certainly doesnt assist any healing... Maybe think about the reason people maybe like your son listen to music especially music by this particular artist. For me it's all therapeutic especially in the sense that I relate to the music as if it were taking notes from my life. Certain songs during certain moods Almost definitely. But even the songs that may have a more negative tone are still songs we listen to largely for the aspect that you're feeling the lyrics. Mam' with all due respect for you and your son I do feel that Jellyroll makes music for people like...well your son. I'm sure you taught your son great things and are proud of him in different respects and I'm sure he was a decent person, many decent, good people fall into situations or habits that land us in situations that don't completely defy us at all myself included. I only hope this perspective may give you only peace & insight. My condolences.

So I listen to jelly everyday. Have so on n off mostly on since 2010/2011 and I tear up every single fuckin time. Its emotional when you relate thst deep. From the south. Born into white trash , family in the dope game, momma was a thug pops a Rollin stone ,he left mom was mom n dad. Mom died in 06, jumped off porch into the pill game , got addicted myself for a decade atleast. Now I'm clean for 6 yrs have a beautiful Wife, a 6yr old lil boy a decent career n I'm here to talk about it. We love ya in FL jelly! Dont stop the unique projects you put out.
