Today's adventure takes us our to Gardiner NY to stay at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Campground. This is the official shakedown trip of The Fun Parent Mobile Command Unit. We had a couple hiccups during the trip, but overall had a great first experience with the new rig and LOVED the campground.

Congrats on the new camper. We also bought a Roo 233S this year and love it as well. A couple of suggestions from our experience with our camper this past year: 1. The drawers under the oven and dinette need to have locking tabs added to them otherwise they will open and close during travel and eventually tear the track off of their front mounts. 2. Your control panel in your video had both Gas Water Heater and Electric Water Heater on at the same time. It should be one or the other, not both at the same time. 3. Your control panel in your video had the water pump on when connected to city water. The pump should only be on when pulling water from the fresh water tank. I started getting used to the griddle, but prefer a grill. I’m going to seriously look into the Weber you were using. Thanks and safe travels.

Thanks for the info!! The water pump was on because the fresh water tank had water in it and we were using it. Turns out, our daughter thought she needed to flip the showermiser to turn off the shower. We discovered that during trip 2. Interesting point in the water heater. I have gotten info from several other Roo owners that you can run both at the same time to increase efficiency of the water heater if everyone is showering. I usually only have electric on but will kick gas on if it’s nighttime and we’re all showering.

@thefunparent I'm in my 60s, and about a year ago, we officially adopted one of our grandchildren as our own. She'll be 3 soon, and we've had her since she was born. I love watching your channel as it gives me ideas of things to do with her. We have an older Roo but are trying to decide if we want to go that route again or get something a little different!

Put a pool noodle in the "crack" of the mattress. Makes a big difference.

Thanks for the great idea!! We’ll have to try that. My wife has grown to like The crack for some reason.

Any regrets on the trailer purchase? I've been looking for a while now but keep talking myself out of it because of maintenance costs and quality issues. Thanks! Love your videos!

If we were to do it again, I would have opted for a hard side with no tent beds. Our Roo is serving our family very well for the size and weight and of towing, but we would like something enclosed with a bunk house. Camper itself was a great purchase and we love the adventures. Thanks for watching!!

The check valve could be the reason. The showermiser also puts water back into the fresh tank. Let us know when you figure out what it was! Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the fresh water tank being too heavy. Rockwood/Flagstaff put 3 cross members under the fresh tank for additional support. I pull our 233S with the fresh tank full sometimes and haven't had any issues thus far. Thanks for the videos!

Thanks for the info!! Don’t want to put any spoilers out there, but we figured out what was causing it during our next trip. Little fingers were touching the showermiser thinking that was how to turn off the shower. Lol

Considering buying one. How is the AC in the summer time with the fold outs?
@thefunparent
@thefunparent Год назад
The tent beds get warm, but if you close the curtains during the day it keeps the main living area nice and cool. We also purchased Gekko covers for ours that do help a lot when it is really hot out. Overall though, temp stays nice and cool.

Bummer about your experience. We had some issues with people partying in the rentals behind us but once we complained to security, they shut it down fast.
