Watching this cartoon series now as an adult, makes me really appreciate just how well written it actually is! JEM was ahead of it's time in so many ways, yet so reflective of it's current times. THANK YOU for posting all of these episodes!
I actually agree with that I remember seeing a video cassette of this and then one season of this was repeated on Sunday on television in London.....but yes it was surprisingly well written!
Truly iconic Indy 500 moment. People will always talk about the mid race driver swap to Pizzazz, or the Jem making up a lap on the final lap, braking her suspension and winning the race with only 3 wheels while crashing.
The probable reason the writing is "more memorable" than usual was its' writer (Lobo creator for DC) the late Roger Slifer, an Indiana native. He'd definitively "cut less corners" than the other writers. Uh, BTW, who Pizzazz thinks she is? Maybe Jennifer Walters, Esq. (She-Hulk, as written by John Byrne in the '80s). 🤣🤣 Oh, and never forget how "Doña Jacqui" previewed 3D sketching before it was invented (never forget she has a huge sci-fi angle there). (this cartoon maybe "partially paid" by the back-then Marvel Comics management, but Roger and Marv Wolfman were "DC people")
I love how they get into any adventure a desert island, auto race, haunted house. I was led to believe that the life of a rock star is one comic book adventure after another. Man, was I disappointed to find out that it wasn't. 😎 Does anyone else ship Eric and Pizzazz? I think they would be a cute hilarious couple.
The start w/Eric & Pizzazz. 😅Wow, stole their car & drove it inside the place. 😶 That crash- serious, but at least Martino & Rio survived. Wow, repairing the car. And what a race, including Pizzazz taking that guy's place. Not just the 1st rock star, but 1st female driver tio win. 😉 Great ep.
