I love the way jennie showed her acting skills in that scene when she’s just listening to Nikki offering her the contract and she was not saying a single line but her face showed all the emotions!
@@norman9504because she had mixed feelings, in one hand she had been offered her dream contract but in another hand she's being offered her friend's single, world class sinner, and knows that it feels like a betrayal😊
@@norman9504 She was feeling guilty because she was signing onto the same company that her friend was as a replacement for her friend without her friend (Jocelyn) knowing.
@@norman9504 she was just a backup dancer but since the main artist (Jocelyn) was not showing professionalism the managers and the team put their eyes on Dyanne (Jennie) because she showed amazing dancing and singing skills so that’s why she was offered to sign that contract, but in some way she’s betraying Jocelyn because her first single is the song Jocelyn was supposed to release.
It's the nuances of being excited, nervous and guilty over the prospect of taking the song from her friend. A lot of actors have a hard time portraying multiple layers of emotion like this. Jennie did amazing in this scene.
Nah no we not going to hear Jennie singing the song because they make the song to lily rose depp he just lipsync using lily rose depp song isn't that unfair to jennie the idol is produce to make lily rose depp become famous they taking credit on Jennie popularity but don't they know tht people watching the idol for the sake of Jennie Kim. The producer is. Sucks
I don't know if her experience as a trainee to a signed artist help boost the performance in this scene but this is overwhelmingly on point. It's very clear how she felt. thank you for the vid cus all i want to see is Jennie in this show, not the whole thing lol
It s insane🔥🔥 Jennie s every single emotion can be so captivating and incredibly good in the scenes. If I were a film director, I would not mind to be in the queue of waiting Jennie s next availability ... Oh, Jennie is just an award winner material
@@123hidebeneaththecovers G-Dragon or GD for short is a very popular K-POP idol. He’s very talented and well respected within the K-POP community. He’s also part of the famous boy group “Big Bang”. I also don’t see how he’s relevant for this scene though lmao
@@loucantcant06 yo i didn't mean it, she is so talented... i agree... western ? or eastern ?what the fuck... who cares 😂😂🖐🖐 i just said @jenJuli-nv2qb is obssesd.. that's all.. u blinks are always on hotplates...😂😂🖐🖐
SHE LOOKS SO UNCOMFORTABLE SHE CAPTURED THAT FEELING OF SHAME PERFECTLY, jennie I always knew I could count on u, girl u do anything, dancing, singing, and now acting… Jennie Kim the woman you are!
She nailed that scene. The facial and body expressions. I literally felt exciment, realization with a little fea and so many emotions with her acting here. Bravo.
Her acting is really good as first timer. From expressing tons of emotions nervous excited happy and sad holding her tears when she heard there would be her single and tour to disclosing the news to Jos how she snatched her song with an innocent face and caring voice. WOW..Im impressed Dyanne
@@stupiddinosaurgetoutofhere7486that opinion is mostly biased cause you don’t like her. Go outside Kpop world and you’d see how great she expressed the overwhelming expressions
That scene is like the story of her life when she signed with YG and debuted in Blackpink, i can imagine how she felts in that moment, a full of emotions in that face. 😮
I was getting teary-eyed watching her getting teary-eyed!!! Nice job on capturing the emotion of her mind saying to herself…”Is this really happening right now?!?!”…I’m sure she channeled her past self when she was chosen for Blackpink! Awesome, Jennie!!!!👍🏽
I'm not gonna say that she's excellent at acting... but she is not bad either.. she's good considering its her first acting debut.. she will be excellent in time...if given so many opportunities to use it...and improve it... fighting Jennie-aahh
Just WOW. For someone who has never act in her life, what a piece of acting with emotion in front of a dozen of actors all looking at her, checking on how she's going to react. Some people need acting course but not Jennie Ruby Jane the natural. This girl never stop to amaze me.
It's the nuances of being excited, nervous and guilty over the prospect of taking the song from her friend. A lot of actors have a hard time portraying multiple layers of emotion like this. Jennie did amazing in this scene.
Unpopular opinion. A lot of people are gonna slam me for this (but no I am not a hater, I actually pretty much like BP songs and all), but her acting made me feel like she was acting. Which meant it didn’t feel natural to me (as the audience). But still very very good attempt as a rookie actress!
@@unovacitizen hey there! What I meant was if the acting was natural, I’ll be able to view Dyanne as a real person that exists, and not Dyanne as a character.
I like the progression of Dyanne (Jennie) they are taking good care of her. The first episode, they did not rush her by putting her in her comfort zone which is dancing. then a little talking here and there, some singing in the bar and now her biggest screen time of the series and she SLAYED. Jennie had time to get some experience and be at ease with her role gradually. Well tought by The Idol Director. Now lets hope for more in the next episodes.
@@SonderDAzeX the part of Dyanne replacing Jocelyn is the ENTIRE plot of the previous show, it’s all about they replace female pop icons, they are disposable (oh and I worked in the film industry and have many friend still in)
There’s only one episode left. Sam didn’t do this for Jennie to gradually be more comfortable, allegedly Jennie asked to have her screen time cut when Sam took over
guys! Jennie in this scene is amazing!!! Imagine if they had put her collab ONE OF THE GIRLS on this scene? it would be amazing! I just keep listening on spotify, the song is so good, and fits this scene so bad!!!
@@mariaemanuelle4734 Calling Jennie in this scene is a big stretch dude, I was expecting some Meryl Streep level acting here if someone says an acting is amazing when it's just this...... 😂
The people who said she can't act are really just jealous cuz she is literally doing her act very perfectly. Edit:- Guys please don't compare Jennie with zendaya or other artists cuz she is just debuted as an actress And these actresses and actor are in movie industry more than 5 years So it's not logical to compare them And besides this In recent episodes, she proved that she is a good actress.
professional actors said she can't act... lmaoooo she isn't the best that's for sure and not the worse but she is definitely no Zendeya or Timothe. Many actresses and others who are in the industry ( insider interview) have said that her fake American accent is "cringy". Troye Sivan is an Australian actor but his American accent is pretty good in this series Jennie's voice sounds a bit off and her new Zealand accent comes out a bit. Due to this it causes her voice and pronunciation to be strained. Not only Jennie is called a bad actress but also The Weekend. I don't care how much you like them or stan them but you can't be delusional. These are people with 0 experience in acting so of course you cant expect them to be good on the first try. But due to the bad reputation of the show and the actors they used, they are canceled the season 2. I hope Jennie enters in acting classes and works on her American accent. I would love to see her perfect it and get better gigs in the US. no hate toward her :*
the way jennie expression about to cried during that deal scene even without much lines but she express it through her emotion. note that this is her first ever debut acting, imagine if she have more opportunity to showcase it once she's act in other acting projects with much more lines and scene for her. hope it happen in the future
Dyanne looked like she was on the verge of tears after hearing they're gonna sign her...she went from disbelief that the song's gonna be hers, then it looked like happy tears and the "i wont let you down" face is on point
WAIT THAT MEANS WE'RE GETTING THE " WORLD CLASS SINNER " SONG IN JENNIE'S VOICE? AYO LEESSGOO, I WAS REALLY HOPING TO HEAR THAT SONG IN JENNIE'S VOICE CUZ HER VOICE IS HOT.
when she enter the room everyone was like she is here the queen of badass!! some of them were like: she is called down to earth! love it me be like if i was in the room: can i have your autograph?
The scene with her absorbing the reality and the flicker of emotions in her expression as they were discussing her record deal …….that was the moment I felt her being a true actress perhaps because she had longer scenes this time that it sunk in she was truly acting. Anyone else feel that? Idk her showing the flicker of emotions just flat out did it for me.
Her acting is okay, the problem is people are just too exaggerated praising her as if she gave one of the greatest performance of all time or even an Emmy worthy performance in the same level as Breaking Bad or Succession when she's way below that lol
I came here ready to say, "Jennie dancing is no big deal. It's been her job for how long now?" But the scene where she shows herself being overwhelmed by this new opportunity in front of her was so poignant, I can't even front. She killed that scene. Great job 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm not gonna lie and say this was a "groundbreaking" performance but she did pretty well here. Yh she might have not really spoke a word but for the first time seeing her act like she's a concerned friend, she did quite good.
People are saying her facial expressions show that she’s upset for betraying Jocelyn, but how so? She’s sleeping with Tedros (“is she a better fuck than me😏?”), she accepts taking over Jocelyn’s spot for the single, and then attends a meeting for a record deal…why at all would she feel guilty? I would think she’d be pretty damn happy for that opportunity, especially since she obviously wasn’t a good friend towards Jocelyn.
Woah i havent watched the show yet but this girl is a good actor, she very clearly captures overwhelment and her face depicts feelings of anxiety confusion and being terrified well
She's not just the ace of YG but Kpop in General. She has the visual, she can sing, rap, dance, produce and write songs and this clip right here just proves that she can really act. Now, tell me who can do that in Kpop.
One of the girls songs,, Jennie and the weekend write that song,,I want more and more songs to do..Jennie has a vocal, visual, dancing, rapping, writing songs, and producing.. on the other side never fails us to do more she proves that she can act, that's why for me she is the modern k pop queen.
If u guys watch her tamburins cf she's doesn't even need a lines but enough with language and expression trough her face. If in yhe future jennie will take a lot of acting offer im sure she will improve so much and will become one of the best actress. So far her acting debut is so good.
Thoughts on that close up shot: You can tell she’s not listening, just acting like she’s listening. It’s definitely more noticeable when it’s isolated from the context of the show. Some of the expressions she makes here are on point. But she shifts through them so fast it feels forced, and almost none of them read as a reaction to what is being said. She’s got potential but I hear people calling this nuanced acting and y’all just wanna throw any kind of compliment her way without knowing what it means. Her shifty posture and placement of hands also reads as performative nervousness instead of authentic. Her scene later in the show with Lily Rose Depp was better but I suspect the reason they cut down her character is because Jennie is still new to this, and there is no shame in that. Throughout the show she has shown that she is more than capable. She just needs some more lessons, great acting isn’t easy
for me in the close-up shot i feel like she's happy but at the same time she felt guilty knowing she will be taking her bestfriend's place and her song (World Class Sinner).
Im glad to see that Dyanne's character has this feeling of guilty eventhough she is one of the villian. So the friendship with Joss isn't all fake and she still cares about her.
her face of shame but happiness at the same time, i haven't watched this ep yet but im guessing it has something to do w jocelyns career but anyways jennie is doing a great job at acting in this, she doesn't even have to say anything but her faces says it all
