Only 1 way to get comfy! Like with anything, exposure is needed to feel less skittish. Having your son teach you would be an incredibly good move under normal circumstances. Teaching mom like an adult would gives him extra confidence, shows him his parents believe in him & trust him, and should make him want to retain his position as "a responsible adult". This obviously is not the case with a mentally ill child, I'm talking about normal circumstances.

This entire trial is sad. I understand why prosecutors charged Ethan’s parents. I am truly sorry for the victim’s families. Ethan was showing signs of mental illness but his parents dismissed this. Ethan had hallucinations, he also thought their house was haunted. Tortured animals, and kept a baby bird’s head in a jar in his bedroom. He wrote “help me” on his notepad. I am not a professional, but his behavior is evidence of mental illness along with his criminal acts. Mom was taking care of her horses and a boyfriend on the side, plus working so no time for her troubled son.

This whole thing against the parents is a joke and will set a dangerous precedent if they are found guilty. The prosecution is making her out to be evil. No parent thinks their kid is going to murder several people at 15. My son is very mentally ill. He's 17 and I cant force him to get help. Anyone over 14 can refuse help unless they are a danger. Jennifer did terrible on the stand. She is charged with involuntary manslaughter through gross negligence, no one is saying she should know everything about her kid. It's simple, she was grossly negligent in ignoring a troubled child asking for help, additionally the parents illegally bought him a gun and never kept it safe or locked up. At the end of the day that alone is gross negligence, even disregarding the fact she was called into the school THAT DAY and refused to take him to get help when school counsellors were insisting she does within 48 hours or they would contact CPS.

She is not a bad person. Just stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I do hope that all of the people around the country with kids and guns in the home learn from this, but if we prosecuted every stupid person (and even smart persons) for doing stupid crap, our prisons would be even more overcrowded than they currently are. So the point of this trial is? Not great Parents. Show me a perfect one and I will show you a liar. Neglect? Maybe. Their son killed. I watched it in horror. Heart breaking. Spend money on saving children's lives. DCF could have saved so many kids from really evil parents, tortured and killed. May the victims and find peace 💌

❤🎉 Thank you - yes forgot about the " system " ( dcfs ) that could actually be helping children AND care about their overall health for their selves & society !

By the time she was on the stand, she was told numerous times to keep in her emotions…add on nerves and you’ve got someone who appears cold.

Nobody should be punished for the actions of others. This poor woman is not responsible for her son's actions.

Who bought the gun? His dad. Who was responsible for keeping it secure? His parents. Who saw him on a daily basis, including weekends and had more access to him and should notice mental health issues? His parents. Schools can't do anything without getting in trouble these days. But if parents have weapons and don't secure them, they're responsible for their child's actions. Like that 6 yr old Who shot his teacher- his mom was held responsible.

I don't understand what she's doing in a court room? What did she do? I've been watching for 3 days, but I missed the opening statements. What crime do they say she committed? Where is a crime? I don't see it. No crime here.

If she is convicted, her best appeal issue will be ineffective assistance of counsel.

Imagine having to explain every text you’ve had with people and facebook posts. Some I’ve posted could be held against me in a different light too. I’m a very sarcastic person and sometimes can have dark humor, but I’m sure a prosecutor would have a field day with me!
