This entire trial is sad. I understand why prosecutors charged Ethan’s parents. I am truly sorry for the victim’s families. Ethan was showing signs of mental illness but his parents dismissed this. Ethan had hallucinations, he also thought their house was haunted. Tortured animals, and kept a baby bird’s head in a jar in his bedroom. He wrote “help me” on his notepad. I am not a professional, but his behavior is evidence of mental illness along with his criminal acts. Mom was taking care of her horses and a boyfriend on the side, plus working so no time for her troubled son.

She is a sorry poor excuse for a mother and she(Jennifer) is throwing everyone under the bus and taking no blame on herself. Her son needed and begged for help but she did nothing?

Jennifer did terrible on the stand. She is charged with involuntary manslaughter through gross negligence, no one is saying she should know everything about her kid. It's simple, she was grossly negligent in ignoring a troubled child asking for help, additionally the parents illegally bought him a gun and never kept it safe or locked up. At the end of the day that alone is gross negligence, even disregarding the fact she was called into the school THAT DAY and refused to take him to get help when school counsellors were insisting she does within 48 hours or they would contact CPS.

What the hell kind of school was this. At my HS if the Principal said take em home, parents couldn't say no. If they tried a police officer would escort them and their kid off campus.

This is so painful to watch. Whoever supported putting her on the stand… What a terrible tragic idea. How offensive to the victims families for her to sit there and pretend like she was even close to being a good parent

Earlier in her testimony she said her husband was "in charge" of securing the gun and magazines, yet her husband called her during the active shooting and asked where she hid the bullets.

The lawyers seem like they are just out of law school With such a well-known case I’m surprised they don’t have more experienced attorneys.

Good grief I can not believe the many excuses from these negligent parents... They selfishly chose their needs over their son. Choosing to ignore the numerous 🚩🚩🚩 One knows when something isn't right with their child, they don't want them to suffer mentally & would try anything to ensure their child's well-being. So she likes skeet shooting, must know how to handle a shotgun, load, unload and the safety that needs to be taken when handling it. She went to the range with her son and said she shot it a couple times but was not her thing. Clearly knew how to load it. After all of this, she sits their and said she is not comfortable handling the 9mm. That is bullshit. She can do all of that and remove the mag from it and take it in the house leaving the gun unattended in the car. She is acting like putting a cable lock on a gun is not something she knows about and is not comfortable doing it. I'm not buying it, she can't think that people will buy this lie, so clearly bullshit. She can shoot, load, handle a gun,but can't put a cable lock on it. WOW ! She is try I g to put herself as far way from all this as she can.

I feel like I'd have a really hard time going through all of my old facebook posts showcasing my family / old life after spending a significant time in jail / knowing my family will never be a family again, all in front of the families my son destroyed. I would absolutely try to do it with grace, but idk if I'd get through it without a handful of tears.

My question is why didn’t the school check bags and lockers or have the parents do it before they left. This is part the schools fault too. So now we are going to start charging everyone else. This would be a groundbreaking precedent if she is convicted. It's extremely tough and I feel for this woman, but at the same time, there seems to be a lot of neglect and sticking head in the sand when it came to her son. It will all come down to how the law reads.

The judge and her newly adopted teenage daughter playing defence atty - running a chaotic courtroom - screams retrial due to ineffective counsel. Somebody pls make that defendant take a bath, also prosecutors must ask if she medicated Ethan with horse SSRI's which she could easily get, instead of taking to a doc, his psychotic breaks are textbook over-prescribed SSRI's.

Let this woman go! I've known much worse parents than her. She loved her son and was involved in his life. I also know a lot of strong women who hold families together through hard times and they don't show a lot of outward emotion; they power through the sh*t times and then cry in private. She is not a bad person. Just stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I do hope that all of the people around the country with kids and guns in the home learn from this, but if we prosecuted every stupid person (and even smart persons) for doing stupid crap, our prisons would be even more overcrowded than they currently are. Jennifer's life fell apart in a heartbeat, as did those of the victims and their families. Regardless of whether she goes to prison or not, she will be suffering the consequences of her and her husband's actions and inactions for the rest of her life, along with the victims and their families. This is sad all the way around.

If she took as much time and care of her son as she did her horses there never would have been a shooting that poor kid was neglected from the time of birth heart weenching

I am not sure anyone knows why this kid did what he did. There is a pattern with school shooters and its parenting or lack of it. Yet these are the only parents that have been charged in recent memory. Salvador Ramos's parents were career ciminals yet they walk free. Jennifer may have missed signs of mental illness of her son. She may have given more attention to her horses than her son. She had an affair but she didn't tell her son to kill anyone. This case is going to set a bad precedent when they start charging parents for crimes their children commit.

It pisses me off when Court Tv gets attorneys on their show who State Jennifer Crumbley shows no remorse on the stand. The woman frickin cried her eyes out sitting next to her attorney while other witnesses were on the stand. To say she has no remorse is bullshit. The day after the shooting, she was concerned about transferring money from her bank accounts to hide the money as she was afraid that civil lawsuit can be filed against her and money can frozen. She was not concerned about victims and how she can help with bringing justice to them. It speaks volumes about her persona.

I know that she’s not the one who pulled the trigger but she sure did play a big role in it. I think the parents of school shooters should be held accountable in some way for now on! Pay attention to your kids and their signs!

She testified that her husband was supposed to be the responsible person for keeping the gun locked up and safe not her. As a parent they should both be responsible for that, what else is she not responsible for as a parent?? Also, who gets their child a quija board as a gift and acts like it's as normal as monopoly?

The state asked the detective if they had phone calls to a dr. Counselor or mental health professional the answer was no. I’m just now realizing that they couldn’t have. Because they left the school after they were told to get him seen by mental health in 48 hours. They had only been gone from the school for about 2 hours before the shooting happened. If I had to drive back to work for a meeting it might take me more than 2 hours to find a mental health place to call. So I can see why they never called they didn’t have time

It sounds to me that Ethan has ADD which explains his grades. According to his journal, he practically begged his parents for help. Seems as if jennifer was in denial of her son's mental health. She doesn't take responsibility for any of this. Her biggest mistake was introducing a gun to her underage son & taking him to the shooting range.

She is a very depressive person. Very sad. She carried the load for everything. It can take a toll on a person. She was crying for help as well with her behavior. The whole family was broken and they couldn’t see it. As parents they enjoyed terrifying their child. Very immature parenting. My goodness.
