Not only were trailers not like "Amanda Seyfried like you've never seen her before" the first trailer actually didn't include her character at all. The marketing for this movie was a crime, literally all they were focused on was look how hot Megan Fox is, because for whatever reason they decided to market it predominantly to straight men when obviously this movie is for the girls and the gays

Hey, plenty of straight guys love this for the right reasons haha. But yeah the marketing was a disaster. Just ridiculous Megan Fox hysteria. Gave no clue what a campy horror style it was.

Yeah I wasn't a Megan Fox fan until a few years ago. And them marketing her as the main/only star is what prevented me from watching this movie until a few years back. Such a crime with how they marketed it. If I knew Amanda was in it, I'd have watched it from the get go.

I'm 1000% sure someone has made a fanfic where that happened lol but it would have been nice in the movie if she didn't end up the villain and they could go on journey hunting down bad guys while being together 😔 that's the lesbian curse tho the characters almost never end up together or at least one dies *especially* in horror movies

Jennifer and Needy were in love with each other. Throughout the movie there are multiple instances of them being jealous every time the other gets hit on or shows interest in a guy. It’s not very subtle even for 2009s standards but the actors and writers have confirmed it. I think if the movie was made today it would be even more obvious.

A succubus is a female sex demon. The male counterpart is an incubus. I love Diablo Cody and saw this movie in the theater. I can't wait for her new movie to come out this year - "Lisa Frankenstein". Loved the reaction from you guys! Also, I am about 10 years older than you (graduated in 1999)!

I feel I have to correct some slang: She wasn’t saying he was gross by calling him lime green jello. She was calling him envious. Lime green “ green with envy” but also jello ( jealous) .

saw this at a movie theater back in 2009 and thought it was amazing. could not understand the reception it got at the time, or the reputation it had for many years after, but i’m so happy that it’s been reappraised as a cult classic, and in some ways has almost become a mainstream classic.

Honestly this movie is so iconic my personal favorite performance of Megan Fox she’s such an icon being the “villain” but not the villain at the same time bc it’s really the band. Pretty ahead of its time with the lesbian moments between the two leads. It’s sm fun to watch and the way Jennifer has sm personality the moment she became a monster was really fun like the moment in the movie where everyone was pretty sad in the school than you see Jennifer with her heart outfit just being really happy😂. It was so shocking to find out y’all have never seen this movie a classic of the 2000’s.

Megan and Diablo did a panel a few years ago on ET Live talking about the movie and how the studio deliberately sabotaged it so it would flop, as well as the misogyny behind all of it, like how they promoted the movie as something completely different and exploited Megan's body to sell it as a sexy movie for cishet men. If I remember correctly they even go into how the movie became a cult classic and was considered way too ahead of its time when it was released, something the entirety of tumblr can agree with because that movie was literally everywhere on tumblr around 2011 and everyone was constantly upset that it wasn't more popular lol.

Brody didnt do his own vocals but he did a good job hiding it. the real vocalist is in the band with him👍🏻 names Ryan Levine I do love this film still to this day. its become a 00s era classic, they all did a great job

A Succubus is a demon that feeds on males. An Incubus is a demon that feeds on females. I’ve never heard of this film until it hit cable and I accidentally came across it. I LOVED the writing! Only us gay guys would understand the term, “Your so SALTY!!” 🤣 In you edit, you cut out my favorite acting with a throw away line in the whole movie… “Am I too BIG!?” ✨🤤✨ I’ve never seen him before and he is so cute! (Give MAMA a fan!!) I don’t know a lot about Megan Fox (other than she used to be socially relevant) but after this movie, there was a lot of hate thrown her way. It didn’t have to do with this movie, it was something to do in her personal life. IDK. Serg, where were you in color guard!? I used to teach guard and became a judge for marching band and winter guard. I’ve judged all across the US. I want to hear more! I wonder if I’ve judged your group!

I was lucky enough to see this in theater. Went on a first date and there were only 4 other people there besides us. First was a group of 3 girls and then an older man who happened to sit in front of us. During the credits he got up and turned toward my date and I and said, “she didn’t even show her t*ts!” We were just stunned…that he thought we were straight enough to tell us that. 😂

You two likely missed it because the marketing was aimed directly at straight men, which is why it didn't do well 😅 I was there for Megan and Amanda😅, but loved it even more because of the snark, soundtrack, and JK Simmons and his hook hand 🤣🤣🤣 "We can't let that damn fire win!" I’m so glad I saw the vision even back in high school in 2009. It makes seeing people come around to it so much more refreshing. Also the actor who plays Chip is in the new Scott Pilgrim on Netflix.

this film is PEAK queer cinema! Megan Fox is genuinely brilliant, Amanda Seyfried kicks ass, Diablo Cody’s dialogue is hysterical and endlessly quotable, and Adam Brody is eeextra salty 🫦 I will never regret choosing my sisters’ sleepover over my brothers’ camp-out one night in 2009. this movie changed my life, lmao! also, Through the Trees is an unironic BOP. I listen to it regularly to this day 😭

I remember getting roasted so hard for LOVING this movie after randomly finding it at the store when it finally came out on disc. There was so many trailer for this movie before It came out and being a horror movie kid I was so excited 😭🙌 it makes me so happy that it finally gets the respect it deserves now, some of my favorite satire EVER 💀 GOATED and idgaf what anybody says 😤
