I feel a *teeny* bit bad when the intro includes something to the effect of "this is Cody's worst nightmare" cus I know Im about to love the episode... >.>
The bf in this movie is the best movie bf in the entire universe. Legend... Which is sad because it's just because he left and came back with help. Hahaha
another unrelated story a la final destination, with references to the characters of this without them having anything to do with it would be cool. Imagine someone with that condition being a different kind of evil.
I remember watching this movie and admiring how much of a trooper Brad is in this movie. He's pretty much the perfect bf to the MC while she deals with some strained family relationships and (something that Dianna seems to symbolically represent) mental health struggles. Also, "Princess Dianna" lol! XD
I haven’t seen this movie in years since it first came out and it still scared me on rewatch when I recently saw it again. I love the concept and the short that it’s based on is really scary. One of the best PG-13 horror movies ever
So the makers cut out the last 10 minutes of the movie to give us what we have. It wasn't over after the mom shot herself. The connection between Diana and the mother was broken but Diana was still alive and was trying to make a connection to the kid to survive. They go back to her apartment and Diana attacks them one more time but they succeed over her. You can find the deleted ending on RU-vid. This ending was discarded cause test audiences hated how it felt like the mother's death was for nothing.
it’s insane how this started off as a little horror short that went viral years ago🤯i love when shorts like this get a glow up!! makes me proud to be part of the horror film community! and if you loved Teresa in this then I highly recommend checking her out in A Discovery of Witches. such a talented actress in that one too!
While I loved her and Mathew in ADOW, the dialogue was so cringey. Even they thoughts so and they crack up a lot in behind the scenes/bloopers. Not to say it isn't a good show, just the dialogue.
@@Ghostfriend7100 oh i full heartedly agree on the dialogue lol it was atrocious but i ignore that for the beautiful imagery and cute (and slightly chaotic) romance. i’ve been wanting an adult version of twilight for years so when i discovered this, that void was filled😆
I was hoping Cody would come to a similar conclusion I did, that this film is an allegory for depression; Diana being the depression affecting the mom and those around her, quite literally. So, if that were the case, a sequel wouldn't make sense, and would completely undermine the mother's final decision (because one's depression doesn't just hop to a new "host"). Glad you enjoyed the movie tho :)
Such a good movie, so memorable. They start off so strong in the opening, and they keep it going with the classic and effective jumpscares. It was nice to have a movie that actually went for it, instead of the fake-outs we got in movies for a while.
Did yall notice the the Dad is Bella's dad from Twilight? And the doll in his office and the art in the sister's room was a homage to the monster in the short. I stand with Cody with the # statements!!!!
This movie has good jump scares- everybody sees that figure in the dark that creeps them out. Someone already recommended A Discovery of Witches, so let me give you my favorite performance by Teresa Palmer: Berlin Syndrome. That movie is terrifying but so good.
I'm a HUGE horror movie fan and very rarely do I get scared. But I saw this in theaters and had to leave early it sent me into an anxiety attack lol it was crazyy
I've seen a couple of your reactions pop on my recommendeds and I absolutely love them! Also love knowing that ya used to listen to Avenged Sevenfold because same 😆 new subscriber here but can't wait to see more reactions from you
I really think that it would have benefitted from maybe 20 more minutes to flesh out the backstory a bit more, I feel like there wasn't enough time to explore Diana's powers. I would love to see a prequel that delves more into Diana and Sophie's past in the hospital. Maybe something like Ring 0 that focuses on Diana's past that ends with her being admitted to the hospital.
The problem with this film is that the trailer was so good, but the reason it was so good is that every single good scare was in it! This meant that there was literally nothing extra that was scary about this film when I saw it in the cinema. I was literally sat in a dark room (towards the end of the film's run, so it was also a quiet screening) watching a film about something that only attacks in the dark, and I felt nothing. Every scare that might have got me was spoiled by the trailer for me.
I know I'm late to the party, but I just found this reaction. I really liked this movie when I saw it in the theater. Wish u could have been there to see the audience's reaction to the scene w/Diana going after the boyfriend in the carport. There she was attacking him in the darkness, & then he turned on the car lights by using the car alarm switch. When those lights came on, the theater erupted w/applause & cheers. I don't think that ever happened before @ the show while I watched a horror movie. It was amazing because it showed how much everyone was into the movie. As far as a sequel, I say "no". I agree w/Cody that it would diminish the mom's sacrifice. I wouldn't mind a prequel. I saw the "Lights Out" short film. When that thing suddenly appeared right next to the woman after she turned the light on, it made me jump. I don't have a fear of the dark. I walk around the house @ night w/the lights off, only turning the lights on to see what I'm doing while getting a glass of water/using the restroom, even though there is creepy shit in the dark. I have seen shadow figures of varying sizes, strange orbs of light in white, red & green also varying in size when there is nothing around that could create those orbs of light & last but not least hearing 1 of my mom's antique dolls tapping on the glass of the case while I am lying on the loveseat & talking to my friend in my cell phone in the dark living room. Yeah, my mom's dolls creep me out more than the dark. Anyway, this was a fun reaction.😊👍
Ok i cant take this movie seriously because i knoe this actress from another show where HER name is Diana so im just here like "diana girl WHAT are you doing???"
Y’all liked this boyfriend way too much for how much audacity he brought to the table 🤣 the second he made a comment about her choices with her family despite having really any context or history behind it was the moment I lost all interest in him
This movie didn’t even scare me that bad when I watched it so many years ago but almost everytime I turn a light off in my house at night I’m a little worried that I’m gonna see her
In my major Cali girl voice, “Seriously like why did we not take a trip to Ace Hardware and buy every single flashlight and torch before we went to the house like….🙄
David F. Sandberg is awesome! And I don’t feel like anyone else deserves to touch this passion project. I’m pretty sure Lights Out 2 was announced years ago, but never got out of development hell. Same director did Annebelle: Creations though! And both the Shazam movies.
Lighting her on fire might work? it really depends how her phasing in and out of reality works. If things on her stay on her then she would likely stay on fire when she re appears (or for example something that glows in the dark splashed on her) to keep her trapped in a loop. maybe injecting with something that glows in the dark? a lot of tactics become useless if her phasing out gets rid of debuffs. not sure how something like a crossbow or beartrap would fare in darkness/ if her shadowform can be damaged significantly. A final thing to consider is that she does appear in low light instances (as opposed to only in total darkness) this means she must have a certain threshold of light she can handle. not sure what to do with that information but it may provide some sort of opening.
As a 27 year old who is terrified of the dark, this movie still haunts me every time i turn off the lights in a room😅 i really enjoyed it but it scared me so much
I have chose not to watch the film due to the amount of the script that is plagiarized work but your guys’ videos are unskippable for me so I’m watching give or take half an hour of the film now via Horror Bandwagon
This movie was mediocre and ok. Not that good. Some movies I think are similar but much better are Mama (2013), The Uninvited (2009), Devil (2010), Oculus (2013), and some others.
