I have never heard the space mushroom hypothesis. Given that we share so much DNA with fungi and we come from earth, it's probably very safe to bet they are as earthling as we are.

As a confirmed carnivore I can honestly say I made a mushroom pilaf with a mixture of dried mushrooms and fresh and it actually tasted like meat

I have this hypotheses that before the birth of stars, there existed a vast liquid ocean named the goldilocks universe, at uniform temperature and ideal pressure for life. - The only caveat is that scientific consensus says we need stellar fusion for most of the elements we see above hydrogen and helium. However, class 3 stars have been hypothesized and not directly observed, they had to come up with this class of star to account for the amount of oxygen observed. So maybe, if we just imagine its possible there was a biological soup at one point that lasted 15 millon years or so before cooling and freezing into clouds that formed stellar bodies. Where all kinds of micro organisms became snap frozen in comets and asteroids. Some of these finally finding thier way to a region of local space formed around this planet we call home.
