At 57 posi/posi is a go! I started that way and now I’ll finish that way!!! Obviously it comes down to what strikes the mood for the day based on feel, condition and opportunity!!! I teach duck so that we can work on switch (a most important skill to have) … but rippin’ carves on a positive stance feels amazing (east coast rider usually hard and fast)

I was incredibly fortunate to see these guys crushing it a sugarloaf in the early 90s. I still ride 27x17 degrees from the inspiration these guys gave back in the day. The original hovercraft is still the high water mark for me. Best days of my life on one at Baldface. Can’t wait to take a 2.0 there in the future.

@@cristian-gabrielgaldamezbr3810 If I stand on a board w/o bindings and mark where my feet naturally fall.. that is those angles. Same on a surfboard, pow surfer or surfboard. Old habits die hard. Throw some masking tape on a board and jump on it. Note where your feet fall. It's a neat trick. Happy riding!

Refreshing to see the passion and dedication to making things better, rather than just selling things better... I love a long sidecut radius personally, and wonder why it's not more common. Current fave is my Furberg Freeride (13.4m radius, race-ski ffs!!) Depends what you want to ride obvs (I prefer steep/deep/away from the madding crowd). The only negative for me is at low speed, where you have to slarve a bit more and occasionally jump your back foot around (the shame!). Everything else is better: more surface area and float between the feet (great in pow like many volume-shifted shapes), amazing stability at high speed in all conditions (not squirrelly at all- the faster you go the more you appreciate this), totally boss at traversing high-consequence death-zones (or just smoking your mates trying to keep the highest line. Skiers used to always win this one, but now I have a chance..). Now I want all that with just enough Spoon to avoid edge-catches on the flattest of cat-tracks. @Jeremy ?

This is a common question and really complex. They both live in the same genre of riding but the Hover is a bit quicker edge to edge. The t>finder performs a bit better in Deep Pow and we would lean there if thats the majority of your riding. Hover has the edge on the " all mountain" side!

Just getting back in to snowboarding after an ~8 hiatus and even after more than 3 decades of riding, everything feels off. I'm going to have to try different stances and start adjusting everything to see if I can figure out why it all feels so wrong. Also, what would you recommend between the aviator and ultra mountain twin? I'll still hit the jumps but don't go out of my way to find them anymore, just owing the mountain is all I'm after nowadays.

Really looking into getting a Jones this year. Not sure which one though maybe y’all could have some input. I’m looking for an all mountain one quiver board. Something that can go off piste, hit technical steep tree lines, but can also hit the park occasionally. I’m leaning towards a mountain twin or frontier. However, I am a heavier rider at 6’4” and 260lbs and I was wondering if those boards would be too soft and if I should go with something more like the aviator. What do y’all think?
@MichaelArestad
@MichaelArestad 6 месяцев назад
Most of the boards will work for you. Go for the longer sizes as they are a touch stiffer and heavier. I started with the Explorer (now the Frontier) and it was a game-changer. Also, if you have shoes bigger than 11, get a wide. For that kind of riding the Twin and Frontier are amazing. I also love the Flagship. There are no bad choices.
@coltoncj1
@coltoncj1 6 месяцев назад
@@MichaelArestad Thanks for the input! Will definitely be getting 165w or similar in whichever I choose. Can you explain the difference between frontier and mountain twin? They seem pretty damn close. I’ve read pretty much everything you can but I’m curious about a more subjective feel than anything.
@MichaelArestad
@MichaelArestad 6 месяцев назад
@@coltoncj1 The Mountain Twin is going to be a bit stiffer so it's a bit better at speed (both are great) and, if we're talking 165W, is .7cm wider. Both ride well on all conditions (can set back for pow). Pick the one you like the design of most.
