People seem to forget that this dude is still very young. To have a highlight reel like that in the toughest League in the land is nothing short of impressive.
Honestly, I love this mans defense! He always asks to take the toughest match up of the game and locks them up. He said hes gonna work on his shooting this summer so I expect him to be a bigger contribution than he already is next season. Go Spurs Go!🎉
He need to completely change his slow shooting form. It'll never work against real D (he never faced real D on his shooting, no one respect his range atm) even if he become more efficient. But I don't think he can change it... So he'll probably never be an average NBA shooter.
His shooting has already improved a lot and he's decent at it. Will only get better too. What concerns me a bit is his finishing at the rim since it looked like he took a step back at this particular part of his game. But still... He's not even 21 yet. Most of rookies next season will be his age or even older while he already has 2 years of NBA experience.
I’m hoping that he’s putting in that work in the offseason! He’s already consistent with his defense and rebounding once he gets his shot down and his finishing the league is done
I don’t get why he gets so much hate, he’s a great player. He may make mistakes here and there but that’s normal he only just finished his 2nd year. Can’t wait to see more of Sochan! Go Spurs Go!
You know what would be a great idea for a promotional giveaway next season would be a Jeremy Sochan bobblehead with different hair colors Like 1/3 of them each a different hair color and then find out which hair color they got once they open them up
@@kaibrigance8244 in fact he's not. just check his D-Metrics. He looks good on spurs roster (as the 2nd best D) because Spurs roster are really bad on D.
@@kaibrigance8244 I might looks like a hater (I'm not) by telling fact. So let me go a little off-topic by saying what I like about Sochan. He have a good handle for his size, he's not a turnover machine (like Wemby) he do all the hustle work on the court (but with moderate success due to his physical limitation imo) he's not afraid to defend the best scorer, he's switchable and versatile on D. You see not a hater...
@@aspleen1102 Looking at stats without actually watching games or what? Yeah, his D stats look average but look at the match ups. He guards the biggest offensive threats on an opposing team. Luka, SGA, LBJ, Booker etc. If a player looks average guarding this kind of players, he's definitely an above average defender.
Han Solo giving ‘em the business! Super excited for your next season. You’re becoming an elite defender, wrestling those rebounds, and your offense is dramatically improved since just last year. They’re not ready for what you’re about to put down 🧨
I hope he'll improve his BB IQ, learn to do *real* hard screen (all his rare screen are soft, like Wemby's screen) and learn how/when/where to cut... Pump fake (like Mamu's) will not work because of his slow shooting form, but he should cut way more than trying to shoot those wide open bricks.
This guy is younger than Chet. Let that sink in. He will be a monster in defense in the future. I still remember the game where he absolutely pocketed LeBron.
IMO, Sochan isn't our starter PF's answer in the long term. Although he has high mobility + defensive skillset, His shooting + mediocre bounce + surgery's convalescence just let me think he should come from the bench next season. In this situation, Magic's Isaac is the first name come to my mind. If we get Raptor's pick, this trade would be like this in my imagination: Spur gets: Issac + 2024 Magic's 1st round pick Magic gets: Raptor's pick + Malaki + maybe two 2st round picks. If Isaac joins us, we can play swishing defense on front court sooooo well. Plus, we can avoid Wemby losing stamina quickly. Although he isn't a average shooter either. But we all know pop's great at developing offense in DEFENSIVE TALENTS.
@@throwawayday4444 Thanks for your message!!! I think Isaac is an elite defender better than Sochan. He can really defends 1 to 5 with more experience. For Spur, it's an upgrade. If Sochan improves his 3pt this summer, maybe we can put Wemby/Isaac/Sochan on court at same time. Maybe I am silly, but everything is possible.
@@romanvercier3556 Thanks for your message!!! Now we really get Raptor's pick, Let's wait what we will do at draft day. Did you ever watch Sochan's shooting training video? Maybe something gets better.
I think Sochan is too small for PF position. I don't think he has the skill and athletics to play other position as well. He will be at best a mediocre or below average player.
@@wojciechyskawa9024yea and as long as he didn’t improve his shooting (especially 3 pointer), I will put mamukel over him anyday 😂, dude loved to just somehow forgot how to play offense every once in a while
He is only 20 years old and make quite big progress in many elements it's a load of nonsense to say what level he will develop to after at least 10 years in the NBA
