Just watched the whole episode , find it hard to believe no one pointed Mr. Wade to the actual issue, Factory trawlers. There are factory trawlers wiping out kings right now just offshore of where the Yukon begins. Since 1991, 1,774,800 King Salmon have been documented as trawl bycatch in AK. That is just documented ,the actual number is likely much much worse. Not to mention crab,herring,halibut etc etc and even 9 orcas in 2023 alone.

There are so many variables that could explain the lack of returning Chinook in any particular stream. That holds for the other species of Pacific Salmon, up and down the Pacific Coast. The method that is being used by Jeremy is called " flossing". Ironically, I'm preparing to fish a local hatchery run of Chinook on the Skagit River in Washington State in early July, 2024.

We need to fix and stop messing with natural spots these fish spawn. Dams or dredging have completely destroyed natural spawning. In michigan, the dnr don't help anything
