Okay, so I've listened to the album through a bunch of times and I gotta say..... I LOVE IT. I think my ears just needed to adjust to this new sound lol
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO! It's a really good album but for very different reasons to lind. Also he said that "sex & cigarettes" would have been on lind if he had finished it in time which is interesting. Very different projects though it's gonna be really interesting to see where he takes his music next but for now I'm really liking this album.
i felt the exact same way when i first listened to it, i kept listening and it really grew on me and now i love it, try listening a few more times and see if it grows on you
I felt the same way initially. Give it a few more listens, it's gonna grow! Jeremy set the bar so high with lind (finest piece of artwork) that any other track can seem dry or 'not enough yet' in the first few listens(if that makes sense for ya) This album is pretty different and he's tried to express some feelings that wouldn't just fit right in Lind type of songs. Production wise this album is really impressive. Percussion has been the highlight along with excellent use of sound textures reverbed guitars and distorted vocals etc... This album is gonna grow with time, and is pretty subtle with respect to getting an ear immediately, He's made sad-bangers(oxymoron) and I'm impressed by the difference in approach.
Ey bro i fucking agree 100percently . My first impression on friday was like i dont like this and the listens after this was like this is one of my favorite albums . Theproduction of the music is insanely good there are so much elements and small details which are so beautiful and the way he expresses his feelings lyrics wise is just art .okay enough
I completely get what you’re saying… like, therapist and I-70 are probably the only tracks I’ll personally be adding to my playlists. The ‘soul’ from previous albums just wasn’t there imho :(
Personally, I love this album. I think it's just a very different style to what we're used to. He said in an interview he always tries to make something different and never wants to make the same song twice. He scrapped some songs because they sounded like they should've been on love is not dying and his goal was to try something new. It's different but I love it just as much as lind, just for different reasons. Definitely going to listen to this and lind just as often. Definitely give it some more listens I think the album will grow on you. My favorite songs from the project are probably Deep end, I can't look at you and Sex & Cigarettes.
Also even if this style isn't your thing I'm sure his next release will be different yet again, but like I said, I like this album a lot and it really shows how diverse his music can be. I agree. I love this album. What I loved about lind was that it felt like a story, or a journey. And it's own thing. It's the breakup album hall of fame. And this is more toxic relationship album that wouldn't have fit that genre and even though I don't relate as much, it is still fucking AMAZING. The production makes my jump with joy every single time.
i absolutely love your reactions, i love sharing emotions and feelings about the songs i like, talk about the lyrics and all, but since i have no friends who likes jeremy, i feel good when I come here, i feel like talking to a friend :))
This is how I felt about Edens most recent album. He had so many good songs with his sex drugs and rock and roll ep. he also crushed it with vertigo but no future was a letdown for the most part
I had the same experience with no future, but now as my music taste has evolved and listening to it over and over, I believe no future shows his growth as an artist and he's leveled up in terms of production aswell.
for me, comparing lind and crusher is unfair as they are two totally different albums. Crusher is very good, he delivered amazing compositions, very good productions and without ceasing to be jeremy. He just managed to prove that he's good at everything he does, no matter what the pace. I don't think you're in the mood the album is in.
First full listen I felt divided, amazing production of course on every song and great lyrics but something wasn’t right, now having listened to the album a few more times I absolutely love it and can appreciate it way more! Wish it had a bit more diversity between songs and the instrumentation like lind but of course it’s gonna be different! All the singles are amazing so excluding those I can’t look at you is my fav

so right off the bat i like LIND more than crusher, just without question lol. but this album still rocks so hard and they have a lot more songs that i can just bang to in the car and listen to around people. but like i've told a lot of people since the album got leaked, we shouldn't be comparing it to LIND in every aspect. ik its ez for us to do because we all loved LIND so much but as fans we shouldn't be comparing artists work to their last, but it just really sucks for them. LIND happened right after his breakup with julia and the "drug girl" so its really about him being numb and just stating how he feels and feeling helpless, guilty, etc. The fluidity of LIND and how one track flows into another seamlessly is called a concept album, i think that was the word you were looking for, it's like chapters in a book. and crusher is just not a concept album and is rlly different with it just being about him moving on and hes A LOT more content just looking at the lyrics and the feel. Songs like 18 and cry w you on crusher aren't even about him moving on from the drug addict girl at all lol. but yea im glad now that the album has grown on you as it did to me, good reaction keep it up.
i completely agree bro. the singles were honestly super strong, so I had really high expectations. i think why so many people are so let down by this record is because whatever the reason was that we all fell in love with Jeremy's music, this album is the opposite of that. strange chord progressions, heavy guitar usage, it's just odd. my favorite Jeremy is the one with soft keys, articulate and detailed production, curious melodies, and painful, yet beautiful lyrics...love is not dying in a nutshell. but this, this was just not that. id probably give crusher a 4/10 as much as it sucks to say. but if we're talking brent ii, a full 10/10. i think we're just seeing new sides of him and i'm just not a huge fan :/
Also, i get how you feel about the album, it was how i felt when i stayed up all night on a school night to listen to it and be disappointed. But im gonna be honest personally all the songs have grown on me after listening to the full album.
See the thing is that "love is not dying" was on a different level. We don't deserve love is not dying. But because of that our expectations were so fucking high, and now we're not liking this album. This album was very good too be honest but could've been a lot better.
LIND really set the bar too high, personally, I feel like this albums good, but I'd never get over what full stop did to me and honestly I didn't get hit like that by any song on crusher
