I'm no marine biologist or mechanic, but I would be inclined to think a large open protrusion like that would be recognized as a cloaca or a mechanism for propulsion. IDK if there's any life form currently existing that uses the water they ingest as propulsion so I'm rolling with that.

@@legobatman5067 They weren't planning on making it a horror game. The blood kelp came much further in development. But before that it really wasn't meant to be scary. Also, the reaper used to look much more smoother and colorful then it does now. And that was after they did the blood kelp, if I remember well.

I didn’t really find subnautica scary in a horror sense it was spooky when I’d find some creatures but they were always extremely avoidable and not scary more than an annoyance to my inventory lol

It does weird me out that people never wondered about what we breathe to find out... also, most of what we breathe in is nitrogen (taught in grade school), and if we breathe pure oxygen, we get high. Our bodies are set up to work with what we have to power our bodies at all times, and breathing 100% oxygen is not normal... so breathing pure oxygen would: 1- be tits 2- be possible to breathe into others, as our lungs aren't 100% efficient at taking in most of what we _do_ breathe in, just like our digestion... which is why we shit. Some is lost nutrients, which is why some animals are coprophagic. Oh man, that edible hit real hard.

I haven't played the game in years so I don't know if this has been addressed, but I personally couldn't find it horrifying due to how janky and honestly, harmless, the Leviathans were. 90% of the time they'd just swim around you and do nothing. Then their models would spaz out and they'd attack. It was hard to feel scared of them knowing all they would do is bump my seamoth a little bit and then leave me alone for 5 minutes.

Its hilarious how almost everybody completely stuffs their inventory with those mushrooms at the beginning while they're actually only used for like 3 recipes so you only need like 10 for your entire playthrough

@@capablanc you get a charger fairly early on so you still don't need that many, you also get a ton of batteries from the little crates. You really only need maybe an inventory full for your entire playthrough at most, if you play the game at a snails pace

If you've ever watched jerma play a game where he's not being a clown he does just fine, it's just not as funny. maybe you aren't dumb but for some reason you're willing to suspend your disbelief and act like he's being sincere.
