Whoa! My senior year in high school '84-'85 we were doing a dance called "the prep" off this song. RIP to all my classmates that are no longer with us here on earth.
While everyone was dancing to “You Don’t Have To Take Your Clothes Off” I was over here SCREAMING AND DANCING TO… “The Word Is Out!!!l 55 years old now and still prefer this jam to the accepted mainstream radio play.
NO DOUBT!! The song "We dont have to take our clothes off!" ... Was more or less a pop hit for the masses, but the neighbor-hood preferred " The Word Is Out!" 👊🏾🔥
Newport News, VA. The 757, this man was so talented and that hair was on point, he left us way too soon, forever apart of that 80s soundtrack, he is missed...
Hello my funky brothas and sistas star vantasma here coming to you live from the planet funky children. Let us keep funk alive radio has forgotten us but we are still. Let's pass the funk on to the next generation. And generation to come keep music in school and instead of teaching hate let's all come together and luv one another and dance. Keep the funk alive
Nothing beats the 80s and 12"singles. You get the "extended mix" on side a and then often get a "dub mix" on the b side. This dub mix was one of the best ever. That beat was relentless.
@@dreamcastx3052 Lol, no. This was way before dubstep. 12" extended mixes in the 80s Often came as side A being the vocal extended mix and then side B was the "dub mix" which was usually sparse on vocals but more edit trickery and isolated beats, production etc.
Rip Jermaine Stewart ! Gone but never forgotten. i got a chance to meet him. A very sweet & beautiful soul. He showed me so much love. This is my #1 Jam of all times.
It was 1984 I was in my freshman year of high school, we would go school party. It’s was B boy era! Every time this come on the girls got mad !! Brothas was start breaking 😂
We partied to this back in 1984 at the Bitten Apple in L.A. and nightclubs on the Sunset Strip. Yeah baby the good ole days... Jermaine Stewart Rest In Power.
Agreed. I've always said this. If you hear the UK group ABC "How to Be A Millionaire" Wall St mix which was released a year after this it has that same "Beatbox" sound just a little faster.
@@vincente4570 ''Stop playing'' I was a kid who lived through the whole decade of the 80s And yes the whole decade was Unbeliveable, But out of the whole decade 1984'' was a Unbeliveable year on until its self that changed everything forever. Everything Kicked off from 1984'' 😎
@@ants8527 Man you underestimating the before and after that year. Exhibit A: Diana Ross surprisingly had hits songs like UPSIDE DOWN. Exhibit B: series of rap songs like 2 Live Crew’s- Hey, We Want Some Pussy and L.L. Cool J-I’m Bad. As a matter of fact. Jus flat out, you can’t just pick one year boss. That’s insane. Bottom line is this. The 80s in my strongest opinion put black people on the map music wise. Do you care to debate that one? Bring it on if yah want to😎
@@vincente4570 lol😂Ok you wanna talk what you think you know lol Ok your Exhibit A: Diana Ross What other song on that 1980 album besides Upside down And Muscles can you name that was popular Like her 1984'' Hit Missing You And Her 1984'' Hit Swept Away A pop Hit. Can you name 5 other artists with Known populur hits from the year 1980'' who's songs still get played today in 2023'' like its 1980'' I bet i can name 5 artists who had strong top hits in 1984'' And they contiued to make Hit after Hit And their music still gets played now in 2023'' easy like its 1984''! And then you wanna talk 1986'' rap music And The 2 Live Crew I will Hit you with Run Dmc's 1984'' Album Rock Box. And The Game changing Hit they had Sucker MC's, Hard Times, 30 Days. This whole album changed the whole sound of Hip Hop. Also LL Cool J was a new artist at that time. He was working with Rick Rubin in 1984'' And was Getting ready to Drop His 1st Album Radio the following year: you wanna talk 1986'' 2 Live Crew we want some pussy I will Hit you with the Beastie Boys 1986'' Album Licensed To Ill, Or Run Dmc's 1986'' Album Raising Hell. Walk This Way Peter Piper, Its Tricky, My Adidas, But Im gonna stay on 1984''. you wanna talk Miami bass, That whole Luke sound was Influenced by that whole 1984'' Breakdance scence artist like Pretty Tony, The Eygptian Lover, Hashim Al naafiysh, And Cybortron, And i can go on and on, And you still can hear DJ's right now on youtube who got tons of Electro Mixes that represent that whole 1984 B Boy Breakin Era. This music is still being played today easy like its 1984'' Unlike your 2 live crew who is playing we want some pussy in 2023'' And let me finish you off with those 5 artist that had top hits in 1984'' And continued to blow up with hits after that year 1 Phill Collins, song Easy Lover, Against All Odds, 2 Wham: Wake Me Up Before i Go Go, Careless Whisper, 3 Madonna: Like a Virgin, Luckystar 4 Prince: Lets Go Crazy, When Doves Cry. 5 Billy Ocean: Carribean Queen. lol these are All artists who had hits more than 1 in 84'' and all continued to blow up. Also these are songs that still get played now in 2023'' Easy like its 1984'' Unlike your Exhibit A: Dianna Ross. lol Im sorry dude but you made me type all this lol😂 Im done unless you want more, But after this i don't think you what more lol 😂 So Have a good day Sir:😎
@@kevinknotts6337 Man, the beats were not sampled. However, they probably shared the same technology/keyboard type. But you made a statement about the beat being sampled. PROVE IT. 🤔
Paradise 24 - 1984... one of the great songs of that era ( and one of the greatest remixes ever) and Jermaine was even a greater person. R.I.P brother..
