Man thank you, I'm struggling with a bed tilt jerr dan cylinder right now, I tried air last night, and it just screamed catastrophe. Nothing happened, but the pucker factor was waaaaay up there. CHEERS!

I've seen that style of gland retention on the cylinder that holds trucks on dock plates. It's a much smaller cylinder I was able to get it apart with air but it took a lot of air and came out like a missile
Hi there mlh that is a different kind of design that I've seen and I'm in the middle of doing the main lift cylinder on a Hyster forklift definitely a different design on the way they do their Pistons in their packages like to see the the reassembly or just the rest of the parts thanks for the video
im working on vulvan 880 in out cylinder.only had a ring in a groove supposedly holding gland in. the thing wont come apart for nothing. doesnt even have threads. help!!!!
Fill the base of the cylinder with oil so the rod is all the way out. Cap the port locking the oil in the cylinder. Plumb a grease fitting in the other port that would be used to push the cylinder rod back in. Hook grease gun to port and hydraulically push the cap gland out
