I was born in Tacoma.....and Jerry you nailed the aroma......love everything Alice in Chains and the solo stuff.....looking forward to everything you are doing .....the past was great but the future ...cant be matched.
While not initially my favorite of the Seattle-scene back in the Grunge-era, AIC has become one of the ones I respect the most out of all of them. And glad to hear a shoutout to Starbenders! I got to open for them last year, and they are pretty cool...like Concrete Blonde in the 21st Century. Awesome interview!
Gotta love a brit....My fave moment was when Jonesy says: Ok Rainer Dog Jerry, coming out August 24, Immediately Jerry is like FOG. Jonesy: That's what I said....LOL Jerry got it.. Hilarious
For all you people who keep saying who is this interviewer what's this interviewers style?. This is Steve Jones what planet are you people from?Stephen Philip Jones is an English rock guitarist, singer and actor, best known as a guitarist with the Sex Pistols. Now he is the esteemed host of Jonesy's Jukebox.. Steve or Jonesy as he is affectionately called, has interviewed literally everyone one both sides of the pond. From every genre of music and all forms of the entertainment industry. From Ted Nugent. Gavin Rossdale, David Arquette, Johnny Ramone, Eddie Vedder, Brian Wilson, Pete Townsend, Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, Courtney Love, John Waters, Common, Gary Oldman and the list goes on and on.......He has authored books and has a very reputable name in the biz . His show is supposed to have a casual laid-back conversational Style. People wake up know your stuff. Peace.
AIC had every right to carry on and get a new member... its true Lane was a unique singer and performer but he succumbed to the whole 'rockstar/drugs' thing... I like a few of their songs and actually met these guys in Salt Lake opening for Extreme at a small club (in the early 90s) just before they blew up. I didn't know who they were but sat through their whole set and was somewhat impressed but I don't care for Extreme (friend gave me ticket) and when I walked out front to have a smoke Layne and Jerry walked by and I said hello and 'I enjoyed the show' etc. They were down to earth and I think Jerry still is... I think Sean Kinney is an exceptional drummer too..,.
It amazes me that Jerry seems like such a down to earth guy with a good heart. I've seen other musicians that have success at a young age and they act like arrogant, self entitled jerks. I always enjoy interviews with Jerry!
That laugh ..it's undeniable ..nobody laughs like Jerry Cantrell..it's such a real laugh...I love that realness that Jerry owns .nothing faux pax about him..in a world where theirs plenty of cubic zirconia ..fakeness abounds ..it's refreshing to have such a gem ..our Jerry Cantrell....so cool 😎!!peace/ loudlove ..
I’m hoping to see him in Seattle this year and if I could request any song it’d be SUNSHINE. Please play that so I could embrace my inner stripper thanks😂🤘🏼
dang, i thought you were jerry, i was like, dang, jerry looks like hell--no offense! haha--but you guys look great! let the sun never blind yoooooooour eyes......
its from the last interview he did where Jones said that Jerry's name should be chemtrail. Jerry agreed because he was known to do a few "chems" back in the day
For once the sound is high enough to hear but it keeps popping & cutting out at the beginning so wtf is wrong with the sound guys at KLOS ? Drives people nuts. People love the show why not make sure the sound is up to a reasonable standard?
I think ppl like Jerry enjoy going on his show. They are freindly with each other, he's a fellow musician, and the vibe is more like a chat than typical boring pro interview where the same questions keep getting asked. Edit: It's worth noting Jerry keeps coming back on Jonesy's show.
The opposite. If he was so awkward I doubt he'd have so many amazing guest's on, many returning time and again. He's fantastic, down to earth and not formulaic which is probably what bothers you. Ridiculous comment you made IMO
@Maru Frusciante ok, please explain what you mean by lame in which or what way is Jonesey lame. I'm truly interested so I can understand exactly why you think this?
Jonesy is a great interview, no horseshit and always brings out the Everyman in his guests, and he’s hilarious, he got a standup vibe to him. Only a lame fuck would think Jonesy is lame
Enit Solange I actually like the chill style. Jerry's a little more comfortable here than other interviews. He's laughing a lot so you know he's enjoying it.
