Jerry Lee Lewis, 87, is now Rock'n up in Heaven. He passed away today Oct. 28, 2022. No one could sing it like he could, he did it, he lived a hell of a life, applause for Jerry Lee!

One of the most talented entertainers who has ever walked the planet.

Note how close the audience is with Jerry. This used to be often back in the day. A genuine connection between the fans and the performer.

Back when music was Good. Jerry Lee Lewis Chuck Berry Fats Domino Elvis Roy Orbison and Otis Redding & other Greats .

It looks more like a private party than a concert! Good old days... Last MAN standing!!

If you look closely in those few moments when you can actually see Jerry Lee's backup band, you can glimpse a 19-yr-old guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, a mere four years away from co-founding Deep Purple.

This is exactly what they meant when they said rock n'roll was dangerous and anarchic...and they were right! And Hallelujah for it!!

Come on folks, this is Epic. Jerry Lee, Elvis, Little Richard . . . there was something going on that shaped pop culture and would never be touched until the Beatles.

1964 is something of a golden year for Jerry. In April he recorded Live at the Star Club which featured an even more fanatical audience( if you can believe it) and it is excellently produced. Easily his best live record. Believe it or not, Jerry was considered a has been by this point, and as a result, he entered into the most incredibly potent part of his career as a result of it. It took the toll of age to quiet the roar but he was indeed the last man standing.

The killer! The last man standing of that generation of musicians. He went to 11 before anyone even hit 7.

At the risk at sounding like one of them old duffers - but has music ever been so visceral, intoxicating, relevant and REAL as it was in the late 50 / early 60s? Look at the footage of the audience surrounding him on the piano, they are in complete ecstasy

I remember the songs on the radio but I didn't realize how he could captivate an audience. I would have to say he's up there with Elvis Presley.

THIS is some of the most electric and magnetic 20 minutes that I've ever watched and heard. JLL works these UK kids into a TOTAL frenzy (they come close to mauling him and ripping his piano to pieces).....what a performer! HOT DAMN!

My favorite entertainer of all time. Given that he has passed and I'm in my 70's, it will stay that way. There's nothing out there these days that even comes close so I feel I have experienced the best of all time.

A historic moment from 1964. As the Beatles were conquering America the Killer was driving the kids wild in England with one of the most sweltering rock n roll performances of the 60's. Nobody rocked harder than Jerry Lee in the mid 60's. We are grateful this rare footage has survived the decades.

This is so awesome to see - the kids ripping it up with a foot of Jerry Lee, but not threatening or hurting him in any way. Just having fun and the energy bouncing off of each other. That's what rock n roll was really all about when it came out. Rock n roll started out as music for the hard working, lower and middle class of America - which means the vast majority of us. Look at all the early performances of the founders of rock - they all had crazy fans trying to tear them apart, but they encouraged it. Ray Charles told the cops to let the kids get up on his stage and dance when he heard them yelling at the kids to get off. Rock was meant for the people. The stars were not privileged white rich people - they all came from the working class too, so they got it. Then when Beatle mania happened, and the guys were getting death threats and physically beaten and people cutting their hair or clothing articles off, going way too far, that's when rock stars started needing armed security. Then complete separation and isolation from the fans on stage. Then only the super rich can afford front row seats to a rock concert. That's what we have today, because kids couldn't simply do as you see here: get down with the singer without becoming a scary mob.

as i remember it was the beatles who brought him back after all the bad stuff he had in england.. i was amazed. didn't really know what r&r was until i saw/heard jerry lee.

This was at the Granada Studios in 64 and Jerry was backed by Sounds Incorporated. I was 18 and I sang and danced my heart out at that show. The whole place erupted. I'd met Jerry and Mickey Gilley the previous year when he rocked across the channel. A legend.

Outstanding performance, this guy iss such an incredible piano player, Ive seen plenty of people who can tickle the ivories, but he's the only one Ive ever seen that can absolutely beat the shit out of a piano and sound like its enjoying it. The Killer, accept no substitute.

The music of freedom to express yourself… I saw a Jerry Lee Lewis concert, I had it recorded on VHS tape, where at the end he cuts his piano with an ax and gives out sticks, splinters and rattles from the piano to the ecstatic audience. But it's not on RU-vid unfortunately, otherwise I would have played it, it was a great show. As they say nothing new under the sun. This man had incredible energy, it's safe to say that he pushed rock a lot further in its development.

As a kid listining to my AM radio his songs would come on and you could just tell him and his band could do it all. His singing will live on, his keyboard playing is what Rock and Roll is all about, his country living was tough and his music was as tough. He was the last of the original 4. Jerry Lee gave us what the band and his keyboard playing helps us to aspire to be like him.

I saw Jerry Lee in concert in Chattanooga Tn.I was 14 yrs old. What a concert.what I got to see of it. My older cousin took her younger brother and sister and me . When Jerry Lee started throwing his coat tie etc out to the fans.my cousin jumped up and yelled. When you get to your drawers I want them. Lol. That was the end of concert for us. My older cousin made us leave. I guess it embarrassed her.lol we did see most of the concert though a d Jerry Lee was awesome

My grandfather was ~20 when these gems were released. I can only imagine how amazing these parties were back then.
