I can't wait to go to London to see this musical - we're coming on 20 March!!!! Heard so much about it - will be staying 1 night in London - hoorray!!!
I spent many hours as a teenager listening to this old stuff in the 70's when the local radio station did a fifties history broadcast. I wanted to listen to the footy (Aussie Rules). 40 years later I appreciate the the education.
Saw the traveling production in Raleigh, North Carolina and it was top notch. Great production, very interesting story and wonderful singing. Well worth the money.
i would love to go see them in the west end, it would be awesome!! i like a lot of the songs from that era, i grew listening to them through my mum, and i am only 20!
I saw this in London's West End a couple months ago - it's fantastic! They do such a great job with the music (esp. the guy who does Frankie - wow!). Love it!
Went to see Jersey Boys @ The Prince Edward Theatre London (Sept 2010) They were fantastic. I have old records of the Four Seasons and the Jersey Boys, sound just as good Highly recommended!!!
This is truly amazing... for a modern group to be able to imitate like this. I haven't seen an imitation this accurate or talented in a while. LOVE it!
You know, this group is fabulous. But, I consider my self very very lucky to see the real thing tomorrow night. Yes, I will be seeing Frankie Valli tomorrow night (July 17, 2003), at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I'm a 69 year old male who will be seeing him with my daughter, cannot wait. I listened to all of their many hit songs, back in the 60's. The Grease song later on, was also one of their best. Have always been one of my favorite groups.
I actually really really love the song I wasn’t to se these guys so much I wanna give them a hug cause they are just fantastic I heard this song since I was a kid in Alaska and grew up until know and I’m back to Merced know I wanna meet them so badly I still love them so much
These guys really do sound pretty close to the original jersey boys. Frankie Valli and the four seasons are great and should be flattered at this homage to them. These guys simply are great.
It's called 'falsetto', where a man also uses his upper register 'head voice'. The Bee Gees, Jimmy Somerville, Thom Yorke [Radiohead], Smokey Robinson, Prince, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson and Philip Bailey [Earth, Wind, And Fire], Eddie Kendricks [The Temptations] also had/have amazing falsetto.
love Jersey Boys but i would love to see Frankie Valli. one day so Frankie Valli please come to the UK 2011. and thanks chunkychick for uploading this vid.
Regarding lip syncing: This particular video has lip syncing. It can be proved because it's the exact same audio as the video with the Women's Show or something like that. But they don't do it for the actual show! These shows come on during the early morning, where the male can hardly falsetto and aren't warmed up or anything, plus that's a tiny little set they're on and not used to. So yes, they had to lip sync just for this little performance, but they DONT for the real shows.
these aren't imitators...they are talented singers singing 4 Seasons songs. they probably could play the music too, it's just a simple 1-6-2-5 rock progression...rock and roll 101:)
I think each country has their own cast... when I see the Jersey Boys commercials for Toronto, the lead singer looks different, and sounds a little different too.
