UPDATE: The Minnesota Wild have reached out to let me know the reported redesign is, in fact, not true. With super early reports like this, things don’t always pan out. Here is their statement: “The Minnesota Wild does not have any plans to make a permanent switch to our alternate uniforms for the 2025-26 season.”
@@Inquisitive0Minds The current colours suit the logo much better. They need to to take the “M” logo with the North Star and put it on their current alt, instead of keeping the same logo.
Same. The duck foot has overstayed it’s welcome and while the Kings did win 2 Stanley Cups with their current logo they haven’t had any success in the playoffs after 2014. I would’ve like to see purple come back but the colors are from the Gretzky era so no purple.
I loved it when my Oilers used more orange, makes it more unique and eye-popping. I wish we used the current unis with navy blue though but I'm still very happy with the classic Oilers brand and the orange on the pauldrons help.
6:39 this is by far one of the best alternates the Kings have ever had. I would love this, or some modification of this, to be the new home jersey. It’s so beautiful
I think the fact that the new logo features a small version of the crown opens the door for including a jersey like this in the rotation. Maybe a Black/white/silver jersey with a large crown is phased in as an alternate? Maybe they straight up use it in purple/yellow? It'll have a level of cohesion assuming the new logo incorporates the rounded crown.
2:50 I’m a Wild fan and I’m praying to God that my team doesn’t go to the North Star uniforms full time. The Wild have arguably the best color scheme and logo in the league and I would hate for it to change.
The Wild have had so many amazing looks. It sounds like I need to snap up as much Wild merchandise as I can...and I would sell my soul for that 2016 Stadium Series jersey
I agree its not their history they need to stop trying to emulate the Stars and make their own way... throwback to the original jersey's (with the rugged strip up the arms) would be super cool but with a modern twist.
I truly don’t understand ppl that defend the North Star rebrand. Were r not the North stars. A tribute jersey here and there fine but to change the team entirely makes no sense and I hate the idea
The Caps Alternate is officially retired. They have no plans to bring it back. I don't know why you feel conflicted on it possibly coming back at some point when the Caps themselves announced that it's not returning and it's officially retired.
If Minnesota goes fully back to the North Stars colors, I hope they do a modern interpretation of the North Stars jerseys, with a green, yellow, black, and white jersey that uses the M from the old wordmark logo they used. Edit: I mean as a third jersey. Complete the North Stars tribute
As a Minnesota fan I agree, in fact this is something I've always thought could be cool. But I don't know if a rebrand is a good long term idea, the current branding is often seen as one of the best in sports. But eh, we'll have to see
A young 10 yr old boy growing up in Las Vegas back when, that got into hockey because of Wayne Gretzky being traded to LA. Im excited again! Oh the memories. I may be the only die hard Kings fan that likes the Gretzky era black, white and grey jerseys and now they’ve added some sparkly silver, but I LOVE it! that they’re bringin back a modern version twist of the ‘chevy’ logo, yes its called chevy not chevron. Hints the similarity to the Chevrolet car logo. I wasn’t a fan of the rebrand in 98 w/ the purple and the ‘coat of arms logo’ shield, w/crossed hockey sticks and a beer looking lowen brau Lion with shades on. I thought it was corny. But Gretzky left and they wanted a new identity and boy they sure stunk for some pretty long ruff years in those jerseys. I will say they won me over when they moved to a modern style crown w/ a black base and purple striping for that jersey and scrapped the los Angeles on the front bottom hem. The Kings RR jersey’s I dont own any of those, I wasn’t a fan. To me purple errr Forum Blue and gold are the identity of the Lakers, always will, always be. LA Kings want their own identity. We shall see what they do. Definitely excited as I didn’t like the previous ‘home plate’ logo. A 2000’s era crown would of been steps better even if they slapped that on. Thanks for the vid.
Are you kidding me??? 25k??? This man deserves at least 500k with how beautiful his voice is, and don't even get me started on the production. *chef's kiss*
That is so great news! Anaheim going back to what is it known from and what we all it remember. LA going back to alltime best logo ever made by franchise, even their logo last years has been great as well! 👏🏽
im so stoned right now. I just realized how professional this production is for a show dedicated to "Jersey Watch". This is some Major Network, NBC level of production shi*
Another absolute banger. Love these videos you have become my favorite RU-vidr to watch with your intriguing dialogue and graphic design talent. Please keep it up
As much as I love the original Mighty Ducks eggplant jersey, I'm really looking forward for both the Kings and Ducks' rebrands. It felt a little too easy seeing the Penguins, Flames, Senators, Sabres, Oilers and Coyotes do a redesign only to go back to an old look with minimal tweaks. I miss the era when teams really went through it with redesigns and tried something new instead of playing safe
Yes, most of the local fans on OC like the orange and don't mind if it stays. The owners have already stated as long as they own the team the orange is remaining.
Just the best videos. I’m excited for Anaheim. My orange Reebok Mighty Ducks alternate is one of my favorites in my collection. I’m curious for the Kings, but would have liked to see some purple. Who knows, maybe purple is being saved for Utah. As for the Wild, am I the only one who likes their dark green+red+tan color scheme? Seems so unique and on brand with the wilderness theme. Lastly, Washington can do whatever they want with their alternate this upcoming year as long as they completely rebrand for 25-26. Their look as been too weak for too long. Modernize the screaming Eagle, use the Weagle, properly adapt the Winter Classic… but that’s a Jersey Watch video for another year.
Got my Winnipeg Jets RCAF 1948 game issued Made In Canada Adidas jersey on June 7, 2024 from ordering it on May 24, 2024 and I like it a lot since the powder blue pops and blue is my favorite color! I like the the Powder blue RCAF jersey over the home, away, and throwbacks they wore this past season and postseason! Also that RCAF game issued jersey is my 2nd favorite while my favorite is the Anaheim Ducks game issued Teemu Selanne jersey with the 20th anniversary patch and Alternate patch! Both are in a size 52 which both fit without any issues!
Amazing channel, amazing presentation and editing, literally click on these as soon as they pop up! Love NHL jerseys and this channel deserves so many more subs! Keep doing what you're doing Chris!
@@icethetics Dude anytime! Hope this channel keeps growing and if you ever get to the point where you are ready to hire people. I'm a professional graphic designer, video editor, and radio personality, would love to work for this channel!!! =D I also grew up playing hockey and love hockey jerseys so that would be a dream! =D
As a life long Kings' fan, I am glad they are moving on from that banner/home plate primary logo. I always thought a crown would be the ideal (and only) logo for a team named "Kings"....duh😊. I really missed the crown from the early 2000s unis but I also loved the Chevron-style logo from the Gretzky era. I can't wait to see the final look is going to be.... Thanx!!!😎
Thank you so much for all your hard work! Your videos are fantastic! I am so beyond excited for the Ducks rebrand, and going back to the Mighty logo. I've been talking about this ever since the switch! Considering the close connection the fan base has to that logo, do you feel with what you've seen so far, that the upgrades are positive changes for it? I'm a little worried that maybe they changed it too much from what makes it so classic. Is it a "it wasnt broken, why fix it" situation? Thanks again!
The Kings are literally sitting on a pile of money. All they have to do is make the RR 1.0 into their home jerseys and make a new R.R 1.0 road jersey. Teams need to stop spamming black so much.
I wish the Kings would go back to their original purple and gold/yellow scheme. The original uniforms were boring, but the 80s look pre-Gretzky where they added white as a trim color and ran the trim down the sleeve was sharp.
Pretty wild that the Utah names that are left only have one that ends in an 'S'. Meanwhile only 4 of 32 current teams have names that don't end in 'S'. Utah Outlaws has a nice ring to it actually.
I had read somewhere that the Isles are retiring the stadium series inspired third jersey with the white shoulders. And if that’s true, I’m quite sad cuz they uniform was gorgeous
Very happy to hear Minnesota is going green/yellow full-time. People will cry about how they're not the North Stars, but those colors are Minnesota's hockey heritage.
I know people don’t like the Ducks’ word mark jersey. But they won the Cup in that jersey, so I see them bringing it back for the 20th anniversary of the 2007 team
I know that the Ducks won the Cup with their new look jerseys but I would be totally down with a retro look. (Besides, the 2007 Cup ring has the retro MD logo on them anyway)
Great channel and production value. Only suggestion would be to change / improve your microphone. Lows sound very bad and its hard to listen to with headphones.
One thing I really want clarified, is the orange eye in the Ducks new logo an orange dot (like an orange iris) with black around it or is the whole eye orange? Amazing work as always, your videos have a level of professional and editing that surpasses most channels.
The King's first Reverse Retro would've been the perfect jersey for a rebrand. Gretzky-era style with the classic colours. It's a gorgeous jersey, and the league needs more purple!
For the Washington Capitals, have you heard if they’re getting a 50th anniversary? There was a rumor that NYR would get 100th anniversary jerseys but wear them all season like the Bruins
haven’t heard anything concrete about a Caps 50th jersey but I’d be surprised if they don’t have one. as for NYR, their 100th would be the 2025-26 season at the earliest as they were founded (along with the Hawks and Red Wings) in 1926.
As a Ducks fan, I am skeptical on the new updates, but if the logo is like the one you had or similar then I will say it will be a great rebrand. I'm interested to see what they do with the Duck foot. White I don't care for the orange, it will be nice to not have black as primary, but something about looking like a California Naval orange just freezes me a little bit.
I’m very interested what the Capitals third will be this year. I hated the W jersey because I thought it was lazy, but it grew on me and by the time I actually accepted it…they’re like…alright we’re done. 😅 *Also, you got a new subscriber. I love the information and how it’s laid out with the graphics. Awesome job you’re doing.
I'm okay with the Kings going back to the 90s look, as long as they add purple to it. As for the Ducks, I actually liked their 2007-13 logo over the Mighty Ducks logo and and I wish it went back to that one.
Fantastic video as always. I wonder, if Utah is officially branded as “Utah Hockey Club” this year, would that make the abbreviation in television scorebugs UHC … three letters that evoke less-than-pleasant thoughts for customers of a particular medical insurance provider? That would be something….
I'm glad the Ducks are going orange. I never liked the eggplant/jade color combo. I thought they were ugly then and I still feel that way now. Also I would prefer the duck mask looking at you rather than a 3/4 angle.
@@icethetics Well again. If you see Jeff Vinik at the draft. You tell him it’s time to go back to the true colors of the Lightning along with the original 92 logo.
I loved Utah Grizzlies but I think because it's an ECHL team it never was in the list. Utah Yeti is the move. I hope they utilize the classic Jazz colors of purple, light blue and copper! Purple needs to return to the ice, and the Kings aren't using it anymore. Let's go Yeti!
Isn't there a NLL team called the Mammoth (or something along those lines)? I know there was an Arizona team called the Outlaws, so would be funny if the team was either of those
Still can't wait to see the Jerseys and Kings , Ducks, Utah new Jerseys . Speaking of Utah the Jersey they show off this season when they get a name and logo will they just put the new logo on it or reork the Jersey to.
