The current walls and gates were not there in Jesus' time. They were constructed by Sulieman the Magnificent in the 16th century. To see the Jerusalem of Jesus, google "Second Temple model of Jerusalem ".

Of the 35 signatories (mostly originating from the Russian Empire) of the Act of Invention of Israel, only 1 had been born in Palestine, which was anyway the son of Moroccan immigrants.
