I can't imagine any Muslim, regardless of age, who has read Quran in it's entirety even once not understanding the importance of the Al- Aqsa.

Afterall, let's be honest- a lot of Muslim lands were once conquered through war. We shouldn't blame others for our loss but ourselves for being weak in both imaan and action.

It may be a "political" tragedy, but it isn't a spiritual one. Jerusalem is the qibla of the Jews and Mecca is our qibla. Allah gave Jerusalem to the Jews and Mecca to us. If Allah wanted Muslims to have Jerusalem too, nothing could stop it from happening. That being said, I could be wrong. Allah knows best.

Excellent lecture but at the end sadly Dr Yasir suggests what amount to passive action, i.e. duaa. I am afraid Allah urges Muslims to take real action including giving one's life to stop oppression and do justice to the oppressed by restoring their rights, i.e. restoring Palestine to the Palestinians. Allah will not listen to our duaa while we sit on our hands. He says so HIMSELF " La youghaierou Allah bi kaoumin hatta youghaierou anfousihoum": "Allah will not change the situation of a people until these people embark on changing themselves."

So, "What right had the leauge of nations, what right had the occupier to carve the land"? It's debatable, but let's say none. No right, let's assume. But that's according to today's standards. What right had the european occupiers to clame the lands of the natives in the Américas, Austrália, etc., being from outside, etc., ACCORDING TO OUR MODERN STANDARDS? None. But we can not apply our laws and values retrospectively like that. Plus, there were some jewish communities there. If that was the case, we could ask: "What right had the ottomomans, being from outside, to clame Istanbul, ie, Constantinople? No right, according to our post-colonial mind set and legal frame work. But we can not today apply those to ottoman conquests and ask today turks to leave and give it back to the greeks. Or ask the US to give back Texas to Mexico and so on.That colonial mind set and legal frame work lasted in different shapes and forms to the time of League of Nations, wich didn't fundamentally changed it; so, the UK etc. won WWI to Turkey etc., and occupied their lands - that's the same kind ok legitimacy turks would have, if they had won, to occupy western lands, as they try (and did) for centuries. Things only started to really change after WWII, and the UN (it was a long process, beginng before and going on for decades after, actually, but let's simplfy it). Now, Mr. Qadhi conveniently wants to use modern notions (or "post-modern") to (relatively) old issues.

Al-Aqsa is mentioned in the Quran, but Jerusalem is not. Jerusalem (Zion), the City of David is mentioned 900 times in the Bible compared to ZERO times in the Quran. Also, no mosque or temple existed on that site throughout Muhammad's lifetime.

You can't be an illegal occupier of a city that your fathers and mothers built. The walls of Jerusalem where built to protect the jewish people. Jesus walked in the comforts of the walls of Jerusalem which were built to protect him and generations of Jews to come after him. The temple mount was holy to the jews before it was holy to anyone else. The facts is Al aqsa mosque stands on holy jewish land. The very land that the first jewish temple ( Solomon's temple built in 957 BC destroyed 587 BC) and second temple (built in 516 BC and destroyed 70 AD) stood hundreds of years before islam was founded and Al Aqsa mosque was built (705 AD). The jewish people have sole right to the inheritance of the city that their ancestors built.
