Hi Brian...watching ur videos is always a great pleasure... Jescar won obviously. Now that u start pulling out the big guns in the sealant match up...u hv to test the soft99 fusso coat or the Finish kare hi temp sealant...yes those are paste sealant, but if we really want to find out the ultimate sealant champion...then the competition wont be fair until we include those 2 tough rock solid paste sealant in this contest.

I've used Powerlock for quite a long time and it's my go-to for winter coverage for the DD. When doing these sealant comparisons Brian, you might want to add a new category to compare the products - 'do they stain trim'? Some do, some don't and I'm thinking your viewers might find that detail a factor in their future purchases. Just a thought.

The key with powerlock is to use a nice thin layer. If you apply it too thick it will be a pain to remove. I don't think there's a better traditional sealant out there, to be honest.

To me it wasnt a blow out till the harsh chemicals came out. I kinda liked the beading characteristic of Adams in the begining. Ultimatley Jescar gave Adams the beatdown! Great review!

Kinda surprised by Adam's sealant - it didn't perform as poorly as some of their other products I've tried, relatively speaking. IMO, Jescar was the clear winner.

Jescar is definitely the winner here, it’s a work horse. In my opinion easy to use, lasts decent amount of time, for enthusiast the 16 oz bottle will last a loooong time.

If you put the Jescar Ultra Lock Plus on with a DA and soft pad it’s effortless to remove literally two quick swipes with a microfiber towel and your done. Pretty sure I have a 16oz bottle have done several boats and a couple trucks still have half a bottle. Use very sparingly.

So the only way to get rid of the power lock would be to polish. Would it be okay to just reapply to the surface after a chemical Decon to avoid removing clear coat from minor polishing when trying to rejuvenate the sealant layer?

I have 5 bottles of jetseal and I hate it :( when I first started detailing I would ONLY get chemicals guys.. most of their stuff is bad not all but most. Time to save up for power lock and sonax and griots and all that great stuff. Sucks to be a newbie 😭

Bruno P.C. it's very difficult to wipe off. And I prefer to use meguiars fast finish as a sealent compared to that. It last just as long and I I do a whole car in 5 min or so

maybe you wait too long to wipe it, or maybe it could be because of a higher hardness. But if u can apply a good stuff like you are using like every month with no problem, then its just waste of money to put a sealant, its better to coat it with a 9H and just mantain it with those spray sealants monthly.

Jescar is a really nice line. I haven't used this product yet, but I will add it. I've been using their trio of abrasive polishes/compound and absolutely love them.

Brian I have a serious question about paint sealants, in what situations are they worth it? Spray waxes are getting very good with products like Ultima Paint Guard Plus, Meguiars Ultimate fast finish, Angelwax Corona or Ti-22, etc... Where is the advantage in dealing with a thick, messy sealant that takes longer to cure and requires taping of trim? I say this because of how many times a cocktail of traffic film and ice melt have wiped out a layer of sealant/wax almost immediately.

actually those waxes u mentioned are more like a sealant, because they are all synthetic and formulated most with the same ingredients. The only thing different is that they are liquid, so its easier to use, but, it gets more expensive and maybe because of less solvents and other chemical they can´t bond on the paint for many time as a paste/cream sealant formula... its just my opinion, but Angelwax corona is HOT STUFF , probably better option than any of those sealants like menzerna/jescar/jetseal...

Ti 22 is the best sealant I have... along with Polish Angel. Comes down to what is in the budget. I will use Jetseal in my cheaper packages. 3 months protection is better than none at all.👍🏻

Brian- would you rate TI-22 above either Car Pro reload or Opti Seal. Reason I ask is these are the only two sealants I have tried and only get about 3 months in the brutal Florida sun and rain.

So about the advantages of the sealant, my point of view is that silica sealants or teflon (soft 99 fusso coat) adds more hardness to the paint (nothing crazy, sure) than a carnauba wax, for example. So less chances to scratch the paint...

The sun is out and my car is clean, even the dew is wiped off. Then my Jescar power lock has just arrived. I applied colonise 845 2 weeks back. I am by no means a professional detailed. Can i just apply the Jescar over the top?? I really can’t be doing the old strip it all back to basics etc.. Am I waistline my time if it just apply it now on top of Beadmaker and Colin it’s etc?

What polish/glaze can be used under Power Lock? I've used autoglym srp for 20 yrs topped by ag UHD wax but am fed up with it marking trim. I like using srp because it fills swirls and makes the car look so great. What else is there on the market that has similar characteristics as srp but can be used under powerlock? Thanks!

Menzerna(Jescar) Power Lock+ is top notch, not surprised to see it win it's heat. Topped with Collinite 845 or Angelwax Corona makes for strong protection that last.

I've noticed with the Adam's Paint Sealant that it doesn't bead and sheet as well as other sealants that I have used, (particularly Griot's Garage Finishing Sealant/Masterson's) and it's kind of disappointing because it is $20 for 8oz

Brian did a great head to head with Opti-Seal vs Wolfgang. If you look closely at the beading at the end, you'll see some impressive water behavior from the Opti-Seal despite being tortured. Power lock looks unbeatable. Other sealant that are bargains 10-15 dollars duragloss 111, 105 and 512 plus bond agent 601 underneath the first 3 would be worthy

I have the adams and using it without a machine just takes too long I also agree removal should be easier. I have had pretty good luck with the h20 guard and gloss even though its definitely not the most durable. I also have tried the megs ulimate fast finish been pretty impressed with that but not good for trim. If it takes me more than 25 min to seal I am not intrested. Once I get out of my apt and have a garage ceramic for me thats worth the hours spent imo.

I do not know of ither sealants but i feel like the adams would of came off easier if there wasnt alot of sealant in that little area perhaps? Less is more woth thicker sealants. I woulda like to see another test with adams and mayby half less of what was applied to see if it was easier.

It looked like both products performed very similarly until you introduced the chemicals/stripping agents towards the end. Plus when you sprayed the panel at the 14 minute mark, it looked like the Jescar was holding strong, while the Adam's lost some of its hydrophobic properties in a few spots. Well I ordered some Adam's Paint Sealant (arrives this week) because I use some Adam's products and they have been great, but I see the sealant is perhaps not one of their winners (based on reviews like this) like the Buttery Wax or CS3 spray.

Yes I would also like to know. I have used Powerlock 4 times once on my vehicle and three times on my wife’s Explorer. This stuff will not protect at all. First I thought the road salt was the issue. So I applied it again after a quick clay. Next car wash there was nothing left on the sides of the car and no snow or road salt. I’m wondering if I got a faulty batch because I rate this about a 2 out of 10 as of now. Jescar will not responded to any of my messages.

Have you tested out the Auto Fanatic 007 Gloss Enhancer as well as his wheel cleaning foam? Also, any experience with AMMO Skin? It seems all hype; way too expensive and not that different than any other sealant.

Genysmen runner that comes from the polish residue itself. Use an IP solution to remove it.

Genysmen runner I believe the oils that are in polishes and are left behind create somewhat of a hydrophobic barrier but it never lasts long.

Adam's h2o guard and gloss is more of a drying agent that leaves some protection in between full polish/seal/wax. I like it for winter washes especially for wheel protection.

I honestly stopped using Megs products for the fact that they REFUSE to keep up with the times. Its average at best unfortunately. Megs is all I used in the early 2000's
