I'm glad that authors are on the late night talk shows ( the actors are on strike and that is probably the main reason that authors are being booked but, hopefully, authors that are non- actors will continue to be guests🤞)

He gives fiction writers & their art form the special wonder they deserve! Jessmyn Ward saying a reader can “sink into the novel’s world” showed some of literature’s unique magic, which I worry ppl forget! Reading a novel well means participating in it! He interviewed another young woman writer who won great acclaim with her first novel, Celeste Ng. She wasn’t as poised as Ward is here, but *somehow* he let her know that was okay! Read novels, not hashtags!

looove quiet interviews, Seth utterly engrossed with a writer and their process. This was very interesting, and absolutely added a new author to my to-read list! Thanks Seth & Crew and thanks Ms Ward for sharing your process ❤😊

I love how Seth showcases great writers on his show. From Jesmyn here, to previous interviews with people like Irving and Saunders. I remember seeing Hunter Thompson and Chuck Pahlahniuk (sp?) on Conan. The best hosts are not only writers themselves, but writers who celebrate writing. It shows. Thank you!

He's right about her characters staying with you. It's her writing style. It's like they become sort of a part of your own experience and memory. I promise I mean something that does make sense but I don't know how to explain it. I'm a reader, not a writer. Especially in English.😄 Do read Sing Unburied Sing too because it is one the best books I've ever read.

I have no issue with people who want to use the term "survivor" but ultimately it's a response to a culture that villainises victims. To be a victim is, literally, to have suffered grievous harm. When someone complains about someone "wallowing" in being a "victim", they are complaining about the fact that they are giving time to their own healing in public, and they would rather not be made uncomfortable by that, or participate in a society that devotes the resources necessary to redress their victimhood. I am a VICTIM of child abuse. I am no better because I survived and to hell with anyone who thinks so

Yeah dude. I work night shifts operating life support. This is the only way I can see this show. This is one of my few sources of laughter after long dark nights. You know you have the option to NOT watch, right? Listen closely: if someone has you tied up and has your eyelids pinned open ala A Clockwork Orange watching LNWSM on the interwebs (honestly, I can think of -- and frequently see -- worse fates), then I'm curious how you left this comment 🤔, but also, I understand why you're being a grumpypants 😢

Yo as much as I’ve loved Seth’s content, him signing the open letter to Biden supporting Israel cut deep :,(( Until he comes out supporting Palestine and condemning being part of that letter I can’t enjoy his content anymore :/

Seth's been very vocal about the need to minimize the impact on civilian non-combatants. It seems you would only be happy if he only took one side = your side. Seth's been very clear he is against violence against innocents regardless of who is perpetrating it
