In this video I once again turn to Jesper Madsen's wonderful organ works on chorale prelude on Danish hymns. This time the groundwork of the composition is based on a morning hymn composed by the romantic composer Christian Barnekow in 1856. As always I play on my Hauptwerk Organ on the "Danish organ" by Marcussen in Sct. Laurenskerk in Rotterdam.
Jesper Madsen is one of those Danish organ composer (almost) every danish organist knows of. But to the wider audience he is very unknown. He died way too soon in 1991, 41 years of old, but his legacy still lives this day.
