There's another video of Mike Tyson being asked about Muhammad Ali. Tyson replied, WHILE CRYING, that, "Ali was a "GIANT". Mike Tyson and "The Body" Ventura are big strong men who could not hold back their TEARS when discussing MUHAMMAD ALI. I had no problem crying myself.
"He gave up the most prestigious title there is ,to be a man of conviction." There you have it . Why Ali was greater than merely being the best boxer ever.
@@Hardiiix Sure. Ali refused the draft because of his opposition to the Vietnam war. He famously said ," I ain`t got no quarrel with the VietKong. They don`t call me Nigger " He was stripped of his heavyweight title as a result and risked going to jail. That was pretty brave in the mid 60`s.
@@ilikezappa3268 Thanks for the reply. i am from India and not much aware of American history. i was not aware that he was in armed force. but yes it is brave to give up his prestigious title and going against power.
@@ilikezappa3268 His opposition was from his teachings in Islam and its dictate that they are not to help nonbelievers...Infidels. So the Muslim's will enjoy their twisted religion under the US Constitution, but won't fight to maintain that freedom because that would be like helping the enemy of his religion...ie, those that are nonbelievers...Yeah, he's a real hero.
My Father was a Vietnam Vet. When Ali lost to Frazier...Dad shouted "The Louisville Lip is SHUT!!" He resented Ali not going into the service. Years later we were watching a thing on Ali on TV and Dad looked at me...obviously remembering what he had said over those years to me culminating in "The Lip is shut" and he said- "I was wrong and he was right." That was all he had to say.
Remember this bro : We aren't divided by race and culture. We are divided by power. While the poor discriminate over their racial and cultural differences, the rich and powerful discriminate over the power statuses. Have a blessed day.
Your Daddy was a real man to admit this. Honestly, I think there a lot of people that realized this over the course of many years of reflection and growth and understanding.
You can look up to your dad as he made a point of making sure that you (his son) knew that his earlier opinion of Ali was wrong and that EVERYONE HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE THEIR MIND. Unfortunately, few have the grace to admit it. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Now only if the African American brothers would take heed to see what Ali did for them and try to emulate this great man instead of Tupac, Jordan, and the dope man. Black brothers would be so far a head of the game. Just saying.
Jesse is real and understands that Ali was not a racist but a man who stood in the face of his oppressors/opposers without tucking his tail.....I learned a lot from this interview about Jesse he is man also...
Lol he wasn't a racist ! The majority of men who were crying for him were white men ! The tears of all those white men even the men with the highest status , their tears are proof he was never a racist
Beautifully told by Jesse. Mohammed Ali will be the greatest for all time. Not just in the boxing ring, but in hearts of men and women who desire to tread the right path
If you know anyone with a fully-formed brain asked them to show you how to do research. Ali was indeed racist. Try reading some of the interviews he gave. Ali was a prominent member of a racist hate-cult known as the Nation of Islam. Its racist rhetoric has not changed at all in 60 years.
Waquar Ul Islam I am from Louisville ,Ky. He is one of my heroes no doubt.I was raised Catholic my Father was Catholic ,my Mother was Methodist who went to Catholic Church every week she later in life converted to Catholicism.I learned a lot about people from both parents and their 43 happy years of marriage .My dad was injured in Vietnam. He was a big Ali fan so was mom. When you look at Muhammad Ali's Legacy and take a minute to look who was in attendance at his funeral....WOW ! people of Islam ,Christians( many different denominations Baptists, Catholics, Presbyterians, people of Hebrew faith Billy Crystal....when is the last time you saw all the different believers who came to celebrate his amazing time in this planet.Lets hope he is just the beginning of many more positive encounters from so many people of different Faith's celebrating someone's life together. It has never been seen before I hope we can learn from the greatest and all humans can have respect for everyone and understanding for each other.Look what he did for the world and how he bought enemies together with out anyone even realizing it.He was truly the greatest in his time on Earth!Have a blessed day I totally agree with your view!
Dear @@jamesgross5954 , Me too, he said in an interview with David Frost in 1974:( i paste ) “I’d like for them to say he took a few cups of love, he took one tablespoon of patience, one teaspoon of generosity, one pint of kindness. He took one quart of laughter, one pinch of concern, and then, he mixed willingness with happiness. He added lots of faith and he stirred it up well. Then, he spread it over a span of a lifetime and he served it to each and every deserving person he met.” and that's how we remember him today . I wish we had more people like him today, who would bring us together regardless of our difference to love and respect eachother share our good values and be righteous. Lots of love from INDIA.

Anyway thanks for the great information it was very uplifting and a great recipe for life for certain!
I hear ya, but you must not be from MN when Jesse shocked the world when the 20-30yo blocked voted for him as a joke. Then it wasn't so shocking when he was so bad as Gov.
Jesse ventura and Graham are both very admirable people. I have always loved what Jesse stood for and have always admired the work Graham has done. Thank you to both men.
My brother was that man in my life until he passed when i was 10 yrs old i been looking for that 1 person since and now AT 26 i watch Videos of Muhammed Ali just to get a feel he truly was the GREATEST OF ALL TIME
I believe they are alive and well but because of the impact these awesome men made the media and government work tirelessly to suppress them...they are here.
Anthony Joshua is a pretty solid dude. Him and Tyson Fury. They approach the sport of boxing from professional stand point. They respect themselves and their opponent's. We don't have that in the US.
@Ramanathan #BeSafe How many indian children are getting raped and killed and put to prostitution. Is that good for you? Read and become wiser instead of following Shiv Sena dumbass !
Ali was a credit to his race..the human race..He reached so many people and stood up for what he believed in..Beautiful tribute Jesse my thoughts completely
The thing that I appreciate most about Jesse is his "In Your Face" style of communication. This video is quite different because here he shows his sensitive, emotional side. But it's funny that I see Jesse here in this "boxing interview" because whenever I hear his social and political commentary I feel like each of his statements is like a veritable punch in the face. It's quite refreshing really to listen to a public figure who is that brutally honest. Whether you like what he says or not, you can be sure that Jesse means what he says and that he says what he means. And that, I think, is why this good man could never be elected as President. ... jkulik919@gmail.com
I posted this as I was frustrated with the selfishness of the Republican Party before COVID. Many Americans of all types are having issues that could be solved by elected officials if they would simply do their jobs. I just remember being impressed by the man I watched wrestling on television and former Navy SEAL performed as Governor. While I am a Democrat, I would gladly vote for any politician who does what's best for their constituency. That's why I thought Gov. Ventura would be a great fit. Especially now.
Yeah, but this is why Ventura doesn't 100% trust everything about government. That war, but growing up in the 60s had to have also shown him that government lies.
My dad drove a cab here in MEMPHIS for 43 years and Mr.Ventura was ALWAYS SOO DAM NICE, KIND AND CONSIDERATE TO MY POPS EVENTHOUGH HE WAS JUST A CABBIE!👍
+merch marine chris kyle is a lying piece of shit and he put it in his book that he beat up jesse, a former navy seal.......whos your hero there fuck stick?
@tony 61 I don't associate with losers & idiots branded as heroes for killing innocent women and children. I prefer to joke about them instead. Here is a joke they love in Ho Chi Minh City. What is the difference between a bucket of KFC and a American Vietnam Vet? KFC comes with legs and thighs. LOL.
Jesse, I'm an 82 yr.old artist and way back when a Vietnam war resister...I had the courage to take that stand because of the great Ali. I get emotional just thinking about him, for all the reasons you confirm. He was sent here with a mission. He gloriously fulfilled it. An incredible human being!
He stood up vietnamwar was a mistake i think americans can admit that now. But back then u would be astrousized from the society and be labeld as a ” coward”, imagine they want him to go kill overseas some yellowman, when he can’t even go in and eat at diner in his hometown in Kentucky, and the n u want to figth a war, when he don’t even have freedom given to him, but they want his life to be thown!! Muhammed ali was sent by god too do gods work.
Thanks for sharing your story! It's so wonderful to hear how someone can inspire others to be brave. I continue to get inspiration from those like Ali who stand for their beliefs and can rationally explain why they choose their path.
all the fighters from this country arrr regretting their country's continuous involvement in numerous external non-borderd wars, it's really sarcastic, a country that's been always safe in it's borders, tries everything to worsen the situations at others borders
Jessie makes me tear up when I hear this interview. Ali said he hoped he would be remembered more for what he did outside the ring than in the ring. I think he achieved that goal, at least he did in my mind.
Muhammad Ali changed humanity inside and outside the ring - with charisma intelligence and a beautiful heart and soul. Millions cried when he crossed over and I was one of them too. How blessed are we to have witnessed this magnificent Being of Light. Truly the Greatest!! XXXX
he sure is a real man!!! none of these cowardly men in power have ever served their county by taking up arms...Jesse has and with an honourable discharge! plus as govenor he understands democracy and politics unlike them corrupt war pigs!
This was great to hear, Muhammad has been a hero of mine as well since I was old enough to know who he was. Shows you the impact a single man can have on the world! Muhammad was THE GREATEST!
I've had the honor to have seen MR JESSE VENTURA wrestle countless times as a kid ,hanged around him and have a whole bunch of pics we all took at the wrestling shows up in the Showboat Casino in Vegas , always admired him as a wrestler, I was and still am , but I was astonished when he became Governor ,this man is truly special !!
Nathan Gold lol who he duck ali was great no doubt look how boxing left him worse than all he beat .nope Mayweather did an excellent job still has most his marbles an ali got his ass kicked a few times
When I was a young guy in college I remembered my brief encounter with Jesse when he was a governor at a Dallas airport around early 2000s, not sure the year. He had an aura of authencity and greater than life aura around him. He was pretty down to earth.
I'm too young to understand the significant of the Vietnam war and Ali's posture......my uncle went to the war and he explained that at the time it was extremely brave of Ali to take that position.....yet he did....my respects to both Ali and Ventura
Your Uncle was right. That was really going against the tide at that time. You just simply listened and responded when your Government asked you to serve. It was stunning to hear, although he was really bringing to the forefront what was already a strong undercurrent perception with many. Vietnam being plain wrong. The difference was he literally sacrificed himself (come what may) to his conviction, and put it right on the tin. What concerned me at the time was, I knew Ali was just talking trash/showboating in the boxing arena, but I wondered if the stiff shirts in government would just percieve him as a loudmouth and now he's getting in 'their' faces..so now they're going to make a real good example out of him and hit back hard with some real jail time. Fortunately it didn't happen. It was still of course BS that he was robbed of 3 of his best fighting years he and we missed..would've been phenomenal- also he would've been able to get out at the right time..his whole fighting arc would've been much more in tune, and I'll bet he would've left at the right time. He once said that he was only staying in as long as he was so as to make sure that his family would be well taken care of, his childrens education etc. He would've had those years already, had they not taken them away from him, and had been able to make a perfectly timed exit. There are Certain videos I'm keeping in my Muhammad File..this is definitely one of them...turned out to be more than I thought it would be.
@@robertopics It would be wonderful if social media met with the standards of what you just wrote in your clarification. A perfect explanation and perfectly polite.
2000Betelgeuse It was another war started on a big fat stinky lie, just like the war on Iraq, Libya and Syria where US is arming and funding the illiterate gangsters they lovingly call rebels.
Today I discovered that I'm emotional as I sat and watched two tough men getting tearing up and getting emotional as they remember Mohamad Ali. Jesse Ventura and Mike Tyson.
I was born in 73. Ali has been my hero since i was 20.. to see the impact he has had on so many different generations, politically, sportingly and with his timeless humour and charismatic spirit just assures me that i have THE greatest taste when it comes to choosing a Hero/ role model / statesman/sports star/ entertainer... RIP MUHAMMAD ALI.
Imagine your Hero sending you a gift to sincerely congratulate you. Imagine in that instant being elevated to such high status by your Hero, to learn your Hero finds something admirable to him, in you. There's only one Greatest. Ali was is and forever will be the Greatest and here's an example why.
A man I will always admire. He was the best governor during my lifetime. He still is a man that tells the truth , and is proud to say when he is right or wrong.
I feel the same as Jesse when it comes to Muhammad. Listened to the Liston fight on the radio, just hoping he wouldn't be killed. And Ventura's right; Ali gave up what was at that time the most valuable title in all of sports, as well as his ability to earn a living, in the name of principle. I think Ali is one of the 2 best fighters of all time, but what will impress me until I kick is how he stood up to The Man in 1967, when that was a dangerous thing for a black man to do. God Bless Ali.
@@SinatraKennedy hahaha we know Chris lied in the book about jessie if he didn't lie jessie would not have never won the court case , we also know chris lied about alot of things before his death
the bravest and toughest men are usually those who see emotions as part of the balance that keeps them stone enough to do their job, and human enough to be soccer dads.
Damn, this interview brought a tear to my eye, too. I remember watching Ali fight on TV several times when I was a kid. My Dad, brothers, and I had so much fun watching. Ali was an amazing human being. He is dearly missed.
Muhammad Ali, even at 74 years old he is one of the most revered sports figures today. He is more than just the greatest boxer alive the King of boxing history, he's a cultural icon that ignites headlines and spills quotable verses with ease from his lips. His jokes, comments and poetry a great human being a hero Muhammad Ali.
I am the same age as Ali. I am from Pakistan and I went to Louisville to pay my respects and pray at his graveside two years ago. Also in the same graveyard lies another famous Kentuckian the founder of KFC. Even now Louisville resonates with the epic voice of Ali recorded all over the world, unforgettable. He did not forget to thank Allah when he sent Foreman sprawling in the ring in Zaire. When he was asked to
to imprint his hand with his name Muhammad Ali on the sidewalk in Hollywood with all the famous people in the world. He refused saying " my name is Muhammad the same as my prophet, I cannot have my Prophet's name be desecrated by everybody putting their feet on his name. So they agreed to imprint his hand with his name on the wall of the sidewalk 6 feet high so nobody steps on it. He had so much regard for his prophet. It will always be there for everyone to see ! Jesse Ventura is a great man, a fearless man. If he can cry for Ali ..it is out of love. His heart beats like a kid when he talks of Ali. I have admired Jesse and seen most of his tv programs. I love you too Jesse, it takes Courage to be a man of your stature. Muhammad Ali will be so proud of you. And you can countthe millions of my countrymen who love you like Ali. God bless you and will be always with you.🇨🇦🇵🇰
There is no better way to live than to be totally above board. Humble, respectful, highly moral, mind of steel and ready to die for the TRUTH. God bless all the great men including Mr Ventura. He is CLEAR.
@@shamkala-kadima2929 Don't conflate the two, bro'. Largely because of his own deep religious conviction, Ali opposed going into the war, and was willing to part with his boxing title for that reason. Colin K., OTOH, largely motivated by the fact that his pro-football acumen was slipping and that he wasn't top-flight material anymore, decided to bring that BS into the workplace while he was "on the clock." The manner in which he did his "protesting" could be considered "bad for business," and he pretty much put himself out of work.
@@shamkala-kadima2929 kaepernick is another idiot who believed that a few isolated incidents of racism among police were evidence that it goes on constantly . That's bullshit, the stats don't back it up. Obama and his irresponsible rhetoric and behavior undermined 40 years of progress with regard to race relations in the USA.
I love and respect Muhammad Ali and Jesse Ventura to the upmost. He almost had me in tears when he said Ali was his hero cause Ali was mine too. Ali made me laugh and cry but most of all he made me think.
Jesse V , Mike T , George F, Joe F they all got emotional speaking about Muhammad Ali and he loved them all. Respect for each and everyone of these legends.
Jesus this man's emotions are always on display. That's what I admire about Jesse. You can always tell where he is in his head, cos it's all there in his face. Something you will rarely see from any politicians.
THANK YOU JESSE. Ali has had the same effects on my life. I was a Vietnam C-Obj.during the Vietnam years..couldn't have done it without Ali. I revere the man!!!!! This interview made me cry.
Jesse: “Muhammad was my hero, he was the greatest man I’ve ever met. I live my life daily to strive to be as great as him” Interviewer:... “so did you like him a lot?”
Every time I think about Muhammad Ali I think about this video, and sometimes I come back to watch it. I tear up every time I do. Muhammad Ali was a great man and I love Jesse.
My dad came from Yugoslavia and boxed semi pro. He taught me how to box when I was a kid in order to help me protect myself. My dad loved Ali and said he was a man for standing up for what he believed in. He didn’t really try to explain to me what Ali did etc as I was a kid and wouldn’t have understood. All I remember is that my dad loved Ali as a boxer, his style, his mouth and his beliefs.
I feel fortunate to remember when Ali was biggest superstar in sports, sure I was a kid and I didn't understand all that centered around him, I just loved him, but now being older and hearing generations speak about him, i just know there will never be another like him
Thank you so very much for sharing this. It's a warm feeling when I see humans, no matter what ethnicity love and respect Muhammad Ali. Just listening to this man humble himself and speak so profoundly of his love for Muhammad Ali is breathtaking. Americans like him understood Muhammad Ali's convictions, and his pain from the unequal rights during that time. I wish people could see more of interviews such as this so they can see that he loved everyone. It didn't matter to him what race you were, he just told the truth of the hatred he faced at the time. At no time during his career did he not have a mixture of races on his team. He respected those who respected him as a man, not his race. I also love that he had a great relationship with the people of England. I thank God that although I was born in 1971, my family always kept Muhammad Ali's legacy alive. In return, I teach my children of great people like Muhammad Ali. Thanks again Mr. Bensinger for sharing!
An absolute hero Muhammad, I was too young to appreciate him in his heyday but looking at all the clips of him in all his bravado begs the question of what we were all robbed of in his latter years when Parkinsons tranquilized him ! And besides his convictions, so entertaining and funny to watch and listen to. My favorite is when Cosell accused him of being ´truculent¨ ..Ali.. ¨I don´t know what truculent is but if its good, I am that´
Joe Nuxhall Completely wrong, Joe. Ali NEVER preached or advocated separatism. I challenge you to find a video link of Ali talking about that - you won't be able to - and there's a LOT of Ali-talking video out there, right? Tons. Not to mention that Angelo Dundee, Ali's trainer for his ENTIRE professional career, was white. Wherever he went on this planet, Ali was a man of ALL of the people - whether YOU liked it or not.
I really like Ventura. I first saw him as a WWF commentator in the 80s. But watching his recent interviews, he really impresses because he's a man who puts principles ahead of patriotism.
