My inserts are tight too... just takes getting used to. My cast table saw wing (Peachtree) also does not have the corner holes for the screws that come with the Jessem. I'm sure the weight of the insert/lift, with the router, will keep it in place just fine.

I purchased the JessEm Tool Rout-R-Lift II and JessEm router table. During assembly and right out of the box, I followed the instructions for mounting the router in the lift. I could not figure out why the hex head cap screw would not tighten the bracket down on the router. Fully tight and the router was loose. I reread the instructions and they made reference to the 1 ¼” that tighten and secures the router motor into the lift. I completely removed the hex head cap screw, measured it, and fount that it was 1 ½” long. I then removed the hex head cap screw that acts as a pivot point on the movable mounting bracket and found that it was 1 ¼”. This was a flub at the factory! I switched the hex head cap screws and all was well. I am posting this as a heads-up in case anyone else has this problem. I am not faulting JessEm as this is a fantastic lift for the price. These things can happen.

I have have the Incra Router Lift II it is made by Jessem, with the Porter Cable 3 1/4 HP motor since I drank the Incra cool aid with the TS LS joinery system I added the clean sweep dust collection box and router plates. You are going to enjoy the router lift. The Incra version will accommodate almost all router motors too. I really like it🤣🛫

I actually didn’t plan on making this purchase at the time but the price was too good to pass up. I’ve been using it for a couple months now and wish I would have made the upgrade sooner. So nice!

Hey there. thanks for the video. You mention a woodpecker router lift. The only one I'm seeing on their site is $669.98. am I missing a lower-cost alternative?

There are some other options that would be comparable to this that would fall into the 400 dollar range in the woodpecker line (PRL-V2-350). As for the one I replaced in the video, it was just their plate which runs about 120 right now.

I just bought one of these on sale at Woodcraft. Sadly, it wont work on my Bosch router table. Oh well.

Sorry to hear that it didn't fit your table. I have heard that Rocklers Router Tables also have an odd plate size. Thank you for sharing though so that others can avoid this. I will say though the Woodcraft sale price is pretty good!

How much did your get your lift for?
@watermain48
@watermain48 3 года назад
@@mauriciogonzalez6302 I paid $169 on sale. Since then I made a new top for the router table and installed the lift in it. I can't say enough good about it.

Any updates on how the lift has performed without being able to mount it into the router table? Had been planning on doing this jessEm lift with my inline sawstop table, didn't realize the mounting holes don't line up.

It hasn't given me any issues with that. Between the weight of the router and the fence it holds it in place. Also, at the 8:26 mark on our "How to build a jersey shadow box" Video, you can see it being used in place without the fence and it doesn't move. I do still want to figure out a way to secure it. Might end up just drilling my own holes.

@@BusyBeeLiving : what about replacing the screws in the corners with longer screws, and adding a piece of metal to each screw that extends out to grab the bottom of the table to crank it just tight enough to hold it down? the metal piece i’m talking about would be say 1/8” so you could drill and tap it, or 1/4” thick aluminum. these pieces can be approximately 5/8” wide and 1 1/4” long, and the threaded hole should way off to one side, so you can drop the lift down into the table, then swing the pieces out to grab the bottom i of the table, then tighten the screws to bring the up and snug. not to tighten the shit out of it, but just good and snug so the lift doesn’t move or vibrate. OR, add a piece from from front to back that grabs both the front screw and the back screw. the lift is 8 1/4” wide, so i’m thinking this piece can be approximately 10” long with two threaded holes the exact same distance apart to match the holes i the lift. one for each side of the lift. basically you’ll have two bars under there that clamp the lift to the top utilizing the four corner holes. on router tables that are made of wood, i’ve seen people use threaded inserts to secure the lift. the two metal or aluminum bars would be easy to remedy your problem having a cast iron table. where did you get that router table and what size is it? and could i get one that is 28” x 36”? i though that router lift came with steel plates and not those red plastic plates?
