Aside from honor and practicality, one of the reasons why parents (not just Asians) usually think that the only jobs worth considering are doctors, lawyers, etc. Is because those are the only jobs they understand. Why do so many asian parents not want their kids doing anything when all they did was move up by default for some company? They literally just didn't get caught, blamed everyone else when they screwed up & never showed up late. They don't have any skill every other working person doesn't. At least that's what they all did where I'm from. Then their kids thought they were rich & didn't do anything like go to school....the assumed bc their parents bought them nike & hollister they were rich like their peers. It's like they're obsessed with building wealth, but they still spend all their money. I guess it's all pacific islanders though....all asians aren't the same
