Jessica Buettner and Agata Sitko battle it out in the 76kg class at IPF Classic Worlds 2022! Many world records fall, and it comes down to the last deadlift! Commentary by Ryan Lapadat and Jo Whiteley
Second attempt deadlift for world record then increasing it to 261.5kg to break the world record she just created and completing the lift with such fluency. Hats off , absolutely phenomenal 👏👏
@@Shvabicu Maybe not as much everyone think it'd be. Thats what I hope for. She could meet depth by just narrowing her grip a little bit. But who knows how much can she bench then?
Both these women are legitimately impressive. Agata's bench 😳 and Jessicas's deadlift omg I can't even deadlift that much as 93kg male! very impressive
Jessica is a queen of powerlifter fans, she does it conventional deadlift and coventional is very harder than sumo , you are beast Jessica the queen of powerlifters❤
Wow just wow , my daughter competed against her in 2019 in Calgary Jessica was first and my daughter took third ,my daughter then took first in 2020 in Winnipeg, unfortunately my daughter chose her career over lifting but is looking at competing again. So awesome to a Canadian do so well way to go Jessica!
I can't believe how strong these women are. I'm a 200 pound 30 year old man and just started squatting a couple of weeks ago and could only squeeze out 135 pounds for 5. I wonder what their starting points were for squat and how long it took them to hit these big maxes.
Its such a shame their bench diffrence is so huge becouse otherwise it wouldnt be even close. Jessica has like twice as much ROM as the other one on her bench. Such a shame rly.
A shame? It’s good, makes powerlifting fun. Competition is always good, and it’s not like Agata’s bench is a zero rom abomination, it’s a pretty good rom still and a great powerful press for a fairly lightweight girl. Like they said, tops the bench only world record which is awesome in after low bar squatting in a full meet.
@@2caiden4u Ye i understand that concept and i agree with u completly. I just wish Jessica was capable of improving her bench to around 115/120 kg which i dont think she can do. Thats why im saying its such a shame.
Its good that IPF addressed this. Now i believe it would be more fair to everyone that huge arches on bench and ultrawide wouldn’t fit into the rule of the elbow needing to be at least be inline with shoulder
Gonna show this to everyone ever tell me again, powerlifting is boring.. twhat an awesome fight full of tactics, perfekt individual techiques and brut strength
Jessica bet.. is incredible. A tight athletic frame and she puts up crazy weight. Her deadlifts were done the traditional way. I’m pretty sure that if she did sumo she would’ve done much more
No, that is actually not true and she has addressed it many times. She cannot do more weight in sumo, as she tried but her best at sumo does not get even that close to her best in conventional. Each person is built differently, one can be better at conventional and other at sumo, it only depends on the proportions of the body like arm's and leg's length and other factors. If this misconception of sumo being easier were true, why some powerlifters would do conventional against sumo lifters knowing that they have an advantage?
Arching your back to some degree when benching is good practice as it protects your shoulders. However, powerlifters take it to an extreme to, as you said, reduce the range of motion of the bench as much as they can.
It is well known in the literature that the arch is actually the best way to do bench press because it can help prevent injuries on the spine. Aside from that, it is also a way of moving the bar less of course, specially because women are less strong on this lift. But as every women do this arch it is not cheat move because everyone is equally arched.
