Thrilled for Jessie! Absolutely well deserved after consistently losing against the eventual champions in almost every big tournament this year! Today it felt as if she finally remembered she's got a vicious forehand cross, a sweet backhand parallel and an effortless net game, and used them all to win this match and all others against great opponents this tournament.. I just hope she preserves this aggressive mentality and doesn't engage in a lot of mid-court baseline exchanges with opponents.. she's got a champ's game, and a player of her calibre should be winning titles, and a lot of them! Looking forward to more of Iga-Jessie rivalry :)

A clinical dismantling of an in-form (though undoubtably fatigued) Sakkari, and a superb showcase of exactly the kind of composed, rock solid baseline efficiency that's made her the second-best ball-striker on tour behind Iga at the moment. She continues to be relentlessly under-hyped, but this kind of hardware was long overdue. No pyrotechnics, just clean, ruthless precision off the ground. We love a consistent Queen. Congrats Jess!

Jessica Pegula is maybe the most underrated top 10 player. Some people try to discredit her achievements, because she is from rich family, but for me the whole consistency which she built this year was result of much hardworking. Without drama and hype, Jess rises up in WTA elite. The fact Pegula lost mainly from players like Swiatek, Barty and Jabeur talks enough about her consistency and unluckiness.
