when I bought "sweet kisses" album I fell in love with this song over and over again. her songs are really hard to sing and this is the most beautiful song in that album for me. thanks Jess, your voice always wonderful to me ❤️❤️
Beyond amazing, wow I did not know she could sing like this. I’m completely speechless. Something about her delivery and performance is better than any other artist that was out at the time. Amazing.
I think she still can recover and re educate her voice to do a major come back with all of her ballads, gospel and country, she could do Vegas and tours with the right marketing, she was always underrated
yeah. she was the best singer out there by far in terms of her delivery and range, better than Christina and Britney though both of them are good too. No one can sing a song like Jessica Simpson could.

omg she so did not damage her voice; she still has an incredible range. She just doesn't use it as much anymore because her new album is more of a dance album.

She was a teenager here. She grew and matured into a woman. Her voice grew and matured as well. It is different than teenager Jessica, but still amazing and one of a kind. 😌🏆

i am from philippines and i am a fan eversince the release of her first album sweet kisses. i was surprised when i saw this video. i thought.. "OH my god? She cud actually sing this LIVE?" incredible indeed.. and now i was wondering.. what happened with her? why is she not singing this kind of songs anymore?.. i miss the old Jessica.. :(

Simply amazing!!! Jessica's high notes are a little sketchy at first, and end out good, but Mariah always goes right into hers without fear and is right on point, thru the whole note. She is awesome!
I absolutely agree that she was a tiny bit flat on the "safe within your arms" belting it out in chest/connected voice. But she pulled through the phrase well and that mistake is soon forgotten. I also think that she wasn't ready for that note- no time for correct placement. I wish she would still sing like this...she's almost gone child-like with her voice..

I agree with this. I used to respect singers that actually sang a song without much effort. When they make it look like work like Leona (who is Mariah and Whitney together, no originality), Beyonce (Diana/Whitney) or Christina (all three singers) than its not really singing and will actually hurt your vocals. Look at Mariah, she doesn't sing anymore and I wonder why. She did way too many runs and she doesn't have that awesome voice she had in the 90s. Sad because it used to be great.
Leona's voice when singing through her chest doesn't sound as strong as Jessica's. Jessica can sh*t on Leona if Jess learns the proper way in singing to support her voice in a right way.
Haha please don't bring Leona into any argument of good singers. Jessica has a unique delivery. Leona copied Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. There's a big difference. I think Jessica has the ability to go anywhere with her voice whereas Leona isn't versatile at all.

I like Christina's voice better than Jessica's, coz after a while of hearing Jessica's notes stretch on and on and on in an annoying tone of voice, it just gets aggravating. But don't get me wrong - this performance of Jess surprised me - didn't know she could hit the 6th octave. Awesome!
OMG you jessica and christina fans never stop bickering at each other. Xtina is a sprinto a believe which means that her voice is naturally loud, but she can't reach the higher belts as easily. Jessica is a saprano (sp) so has a less loud voice but can more easily access the high belts.
Xtina sings her high notes in superhead, whereas Jessica uses head which is easier to control and maintains its strength the higher you go...normally. They're basically completely different singers. Yes they both hit high notes...although jessica seems not to in her latest album...but otherwise they shouldnt be compared.
@mariahforever1990 i agree that you should leave the songs with big notes to mariah and whitney but not with leaona. leaona can only do some nice techniques whic is good but she doesn't have a range like jessica in chest voice. even christina will be killed by the note that jess did on this video, christina will only do runs. lol. kelly clarkson i should say, can do this as well but not lewis. that's my take on this one. peace!
i looked up her this video because i used to LOVE jessica simpson's voice but now she sounds terrible AND FYI i saw the HATE remark against xtina who can sing and i disagreed. and what?
Besides that, Christina has a much stronger voice, and when she hits her falsetto notes, they sound really beautiful (ex: The Voice Within) and her high notes on The Christmas Song (near the end at 3:48) but they do sound kinda out of place. There's only one person that I know who can kick both their asses, and has the best damn voice - that's Ms. Mariah Carey! She can hit those screamers perfect pitch live, without any flaws.
Christina doesn't sing her big notes live. She always does runs coz she is somewhat a product of auto tune in high notes. Jessica does her high notes all the time and does not tweak her live performances.
wow...when she was a gospel singing she was great and powerful. too bad they thought she was meant for pop. she should go back to christian music...she seems to be more passionate for it.
Hmm, a very talented beautiful girl. You can hear that her technique is all wrong. Her stage presence always had anger in it. It made her look a little spastic. It got worse as she got older. I feel kind of bad. If she just had a good coach she could have really honed this incredibly natural talent.
The musicality was NOT there. She was just singing. Imagine how amazing those belts would've been if they were relaxed and open. The head voice high note 1:05 was the best part. She had all the makings of an amazing singer but didnt get the training she needed/deserved cause she was thrown on the pop music conveyor belt. Lol, i like JS tho.
Christina Aguilera is a thousand times better than her!!!.And also a thousand times more beautiful!!!.Anyway i love Jessica too, and she's at least better than Whitney Houston!!!!.As for Christina she's the best female voice of the whole world!!!.
