Research, guys... Do some research... There is a huge reason for her to have been in such a vulnerable, yet empowering position, which you confused as “diva moment” and vulnerability exposed “bad practice”. It is explained by herself in the long version of the video, also in the complete show video. She would originally perform this song on last episode as a celebration of the Titanic movie 20th anniversary, which by coincidence would be same day of the show. Nevertheless, she had to be flown back to London in order to get medical attention from specialists because she has a heart condition since birth (she’s one of those miracle children having some strange disease, who against all forecasts make it). So, she decided to keep the song for this episode because it was a way to thank all the people supporting her during that difficult phase, knowing they really wanted to watch her perform that song, and basically because it got a whole new meaning: “my heart will go on”. I think this is the most personal and humble performance Jessie J has delivered, ever. When she got first place for this week (extra credits because not having performed last time her votes were 0 and was informed she strongly needed a really good result on this show), she said it was one of the most nerve wrecking moments of her life, and that it wasn’t Jessie J performing, but Jessica singing on stage using a Jessie J’s dress. Oh, and if all that is not enough, here’s the cherry of the pie: Jessie J got back to China just in time to get on stage and perform, she couldn’t rehearse the song and what you watched was basically the first try. I don’t usually cry with a performance, but man, I can’t stop crying every single time I watch this... it’s so deep, honest and meaningful. I invite you to watch the performance again, now that you have the right context; I bet you will be moved by every note, every gesture, every touch of her chest, every silence and yes... Every act of vulnerability. Because Jessie was born more vulnerable than any of us, and ironically, that is what built her of steel and gold. That lady is one of a kind.

One thing in this life that I will not tolerate is unwarranted disrespect for Jessie J. She has a heart condition and was heavily advised by her doctors not to fly back to China for this performance. She literally put her whole heart into this. Perhaps more research next time..

I don’t know if you guys understand the meaning of this performance. Jessie had to fly to London because she got very unwell because of her heart disease, doctors told her not to fly back to China but she still did to make it in time for the episode 10 live show recording. No rehearsals. She was on a verge of fainting during the performance, by the end of the episode she couldn’t stand. When she sings “My heart will go on” she’s singing about her own heart. We, her fans are also called heartbeats 💗 I can’t believe she did this well. She’s something else. All the Chinese fans were very worried about her and missing her that’s why she was the way she was at the end of the performance. She also said that she didn’t feel like Jessie J, she felt like Jessica in a Jessie J dress during the performance.

There was a clip showing her walking off the stage. She said she was very nervous and her whole body was shaking. She didn’t completely recovered from her sickness and she only arrived a few hours before the show, didn’t have time to rehearsal. She did an amazing job!

Great Reaction! She wasn't just nervous because of the weight of the song but also because she had been sick the week before which is why she missed a week of the show. She has a heart condition and has been through more than most with her health including a stroke so the meaning of the song and singing "my heart will go on" was much more impactful too her in this performance.

Thanks for reacting so quickly to Jessie J's performance. I really wanted to see your reaction. Her performance was incredibly moving, epic, and stellar. She is sooooo Underrated. Jessie J has one of the greatest voices of our life time, or any time. This performance was so poignant and perfectly suited for her comeback. It was her heart condition that caused her to become ill and threatened to take her out of the singing competition altogether. However, all the singers took a vote to bring her back knowing that 2 singers would be eliminated instead of one at the conclusion of this episode. Look at God. Look at the beauty of the person Jessie J is and the tremendous gift she has ..that the singers felt she deserved to return to the show. They were so gracious. That is special. There is a genuine support and respect that the singers have for one another and each others craft and artistry on the show. Jessie J appeared to remain a bit weak. I checked the original video of the entire episode for the backdrop. Afterward, she said her whole body was shaking. In her instagram, she said she kept telling herself, don't faint, don't faint! What is so amazing to me is that she flew back to China 1) against doctor's orders and 2) she never had an opportunity to rehearse. She only arrived in time for the show without the advantage of a rehearsal. Her performance was incredibly beautiful and powerful. Masterful. She gave a little bit of a laugh towards the end. I can only imagine, that she was saying to herself and to all those who said she couldn't do it that her heart will go on and is going on. When she had the stroke at about 16 years old, they said she would never be able to walk or sing again. Her doctors told her she shouldn't fly and return to the competition. Her passion, commitment, love for her fans and "singing" gave us a breathtaking performance. Even the slight weakness worked to her favor. It brought a subtlety and softness to the beginning of the song that may not have been there otherwise. I am so happy for her and joyous to see her return to the competition. She is an extraordinary person. Jessie J definitely placed her own Jessie J stamp on this classic song. It was really Jessica Cornish the person rather than Jessie J the artist standing there fighting to go on, determined to stand and not faint, and gain victory over the challenges she was feeling in her body. I think it'd be great if you also watched a bit of intro to the performance or looked up social media and stuff. Jessie J had a recent flare up of her heart condition and she sang after getting back the same morning and scared to faint. Yeah, the song is important and difficult, but her weakness made her nervous.

I don't think she was waiting for applause at the end, not at all - she was just in the moment and overwhelmed with it. You guys missed the introduction before the performance, which speaks about why she's picked this song. She's putting her heart out there in a deep way and that's what makes her nervous and why she's shown it. It just means a lot to her on a personal level and I think she took people on that journey with her. If you hadn't missed the little preamble first, it would have made a lot more sense for you, I think! But great reaction as always! It goes without saying that she is just phenomenal.

Ok hearing Jessie's version of this song, i just got to understand what you 3 were talking about pre. Recording the vocals. Coz here even Jessie's low notes and whispers sounds so clear loud and strong. Its not sound like a whisper at all.

Ok guys I happen to have the same heart condition she has... I decided to take a look back at her performance here because something was telling me she wasn't well yet. this is what I found: Jessica Ellen Cornish A.K.A "Jessie J" has a heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. I have the same heart condition. I do know what she was feeling and I know she made a TITANIC effort to remain on her feet and even much more to sing her heart out as she did. This illness causes irregular heartbeat, insanely increases your heartbeat rate, shortness of breath, fainting, angina (chest pain), and may cause sudden death due to cardiac arrest. Jessica fainted during the rehearsals for episode 8 because she was having angina (chest pain). The pain is indescribable, trust me. It is like having cramps in your heart - like the ones you have in your legs when exercising? well just like that, but in your heart. She had to be taken back in emergency to England where she was hospitalized and kept there for over a week to stabilize her. Very rarely you get stabilized in such a short time and that is what motivated me to observe closely this performance of hers. Once the heart gets to this point where you are having the angina it is hard to take it back to its normal heartbeat and this causes you extreme weakness, sensation of suffocation and a constant feeling of wanting to faint. That is why she was shaking at the end. Not because she was nervous as she says, but because how weak she felt. For some reason she simply would hide it from us all. Maybe she did not want to worry us. I know that when the results were given of this performance and they announced her as the winner of this episode she stood up to talk and went down immediately while apologizing for sitting down, cause she was extremely dizzy and that is because of the lack of oxygen in your brain due to your heart going too fast or jumping all over the place. Notice how at the beginning of her performance the look in her eyes was like lost. That stray look she had it through out all her performance, then you could notice the generalized weakness which was so evident, she wasn't the bubbly Jessie J of always. There is one point at the beginning where she drops her arms and exhales like showing exhaustion 2:48 . Notice also how when she lifts both of her arms, her left arm never seems to reach the same height as the right arm, that happens because the left side of your body holds your heart and you are not pumping the blood well so your left arm feels much heavier (1:53, 3:15, 4:37, 5:11 etc)That is how I knew she was still struggling with the effects of her heart condition. Just before the climax of the song almost at the end of it where she pauses (4:28), notice how she turns her head back to her right towards the band conductor and signals him with a movement of her head in signal of approval like saying "yes I am gonna do it" ... She knew she could faint.. She was feeling really bad, so bad that she wasn't sure if she could finish or not the song as planned so I bet she agreed with the conductor whether she would do it or not. How she could pull this off is beyond my comprehension. What she was going through was not child's play. And despite all this she did it all for us and for herself. Her performance was flawless, the rendition beyond perfection, etc, etc, etc. Besides being an outstanding performer, an incredible story teller and one of the best vocalists that has ever walked on this earth, she is also a remarkable and awesome human being. Humbleness is her middle name ... I am very proud of her!!
