Jessie Reyez has had a meteoric rise over the last few years. She went from playing bars in Toronto to writing songs for artists like Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris to having a triple platinum single, touring with Billie Eilish and gaining millions of fans all over the world. Things were moving really fast for her, so when the pandemic happened she was able to take a step back and process some things she had been putting off. That led her to make her new album, Yessie. Reyez sat down with Tom Power to tell us how slowing things down allowed her to be truly open in a way she wasn’t before.
