This was immensely fascinating! I am a convert to Judaism from Christianity and how Rabbi Skobac described this difference between the Priesthood and the Ruler of Israel(the King) was amazing! He even tied this into the Prophets, explaining no where does it speak about the Messiah described by the Prophets as a Priest but rather as a King. I loved how he spoke about the different tasks of the Priesthood and how those different tasks applied to Melchizedek as a king who administered justice. And how this same description of David in Psalms warranted the same application. Like Melchizedek, David administered justice as a king, not as a priest.

I have had my reservations, as a Christian, about much taught in Christian theology. I've been ostracized for questioning Biblical teachings about the central tenets of the religion and I admit I could not always articulate myself about the issues I had. I stumbled across rabbi Michael Kobacs' teachings about a year ago and they plain, simple, straightforward and fully based on the Hebrew Bible and historical context. Please continue these teachings and I hope more and more Christians will somehow be drawn to them and be sincere about what "truth" is. Thank you Rabbi.

Priestly kings are a violation of Torah law, obviously. We Jews had priest-kings only during the Hasmonean ear, and that turned into no small disaster.

I'll apprecite Priests as teachers most certainly! The word "sacrifice" involving animals and birds or anything living makes me truly uncomfortable. Thanks Rabbi. Again a brilliant lecture. Just one question. "Will there be monarchy in the coming age?"

The Jewish year is said to be 5781. Does that take into account the 430 years that Israel was in Egypt? Or does that only include 230 years? God said Israel was in Egypt for 430 years and that the genealogies were according to the people. The people can be wrong but God does not lie. That would make the year 5981. If the calendar did not take this into account.

Is it remotely possible that you can be wrong?

Is Jesus our savior? Can he decide us to enter the paradise? All prophets were sent to guide people to the truth (pure and clear monotheism). That is the straight way, the truth, and the real life. In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1. Say, “He is God, the One. 2. God, the Absolute. 3. He begets not, nor was He begotten. 4. And there is none comparable to Him.” Holy Quran, original holy Bible, and all true revelations. FACT.

Your teaching is brilliant, but must you keep making that awful “kh” sound which is physically painful? If you say that “kh” is a sound from God, you are saying that God authored repulsive sounds. I think only Ashkenazi Jews use “kh” sounds. I don’t think that other diaspora Jews do, so I think the “kh” sound originated with Ashkenazim and not from God. Many, though not most, use the softer “ch” and “h” sounds. Please don’t reply with snark.

you probably mean to the letter Khet (ח) in the Hebrew alphabet (there is one in Arabic too by the way) Ch-is usually use to the letter tzadic (צ) in the Hebrew alphabet and H- is used to the letter hei (ה) in the Hebrew Alphabet. he pronounce the word and letters correctly as a native Hebrew speaker (Israeli- Ashkenazi or sparadi) would do not the version that English speakers usually mistakenly say this letters probably because this letters does not exist in the English Alphabet.

Who are you to say what sounds are repulsive or not. That's how everyone pronounces the letter khaf. That's how most pronounce the letter chet as well. It's a Semitic phoneme (exists in Arabic as well). Must we up-end the entire mesorah of how to pronounce Hebrew letters in order to fit your aural aesthetic?

Further, even if only Ashkenazi Jews use such a phoneme, why does that matter? Ashkenazi Jews are just as Jewish as Sefardim and Teimanim. Even according to them! They count us in their minyanim and they say "amein" to our brachos.
