Zabrena, I wish this video was available to me 20 years ago. We had similar mothers, and I spent too many years trying to make the relationship work. I felt like I had to be a good daughter and it caused me to have to experience so much abuse. It is incredibly refreshing to realize that the Bible does support protecting one's self from abusive relationships!! I hope and pray that this message reaches those who truly need it!!

Oh, even though I am 73 and you are younger than both our daughters, you and I have much in common! The difference being I didn’t think I could cut the apron string with my mom. My husband and I took care of her even though she didn’t like him and was many times cruel to both of us. The stories I could tell! And yes, I also had no idea how to set boundaries, really didn’t even know what they were. She passed away 8 years ago and I never addressed the issues with her. So I am very thankful you have started this channel! Bless you! ❤️🙏🏻❤️

There were two people in my life that used me financially and emotionally for all that I had for many many years. It's been extremely hard to stand my ground with these people but I have. In the last 14 years. I have had to distant my self from my Mother, Little Brother and a friend that I had for over 30 years. It is painful todo but you do it with love for them and your self and your family and for God.

I have heard many messages on Matthew 16:23 but no one (not even pastors) have brought out the fact that Peter was not speaking but an evil spirit was speaking through him. Thank you for this! What an amazing first video. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you. I do agree, setting boundaries is vital for the survival of anyone's spirit and well being as a person. Through prayer, God's guidance and light. I let go of family, relatives and friends. These people over the years left me totally drained and very frail. God showed me what I needed to do many years ago. It was done and my life has felt so much more elevated and I returned back to my former self. God bless you and your family🙏

In my experience, once the boundary is set and emotional ties are under control, they no longer have the power to drive you bonkers. Hey Zabrena! I have followed your makeup channel for years. I was so happy to hear you have started this channel. I am loving it! I work in a public school as a paraprofessional in special education. I’m not able to pick and choose who I’m closely working with. This year I found out that another para that professionally lied about a situation and stabbed me in the back last year is going to be based in the same classroom I’m in. I’m already very unhappy with the prospect of knowing she’s going to be practically in my face all day. I have prayed and asked the Lord to help me handle this. This is a person that stirs up a lot of crap with a lot of our coworkers. She’s also a “know it all” if you know what I mean. She’s a lot younger than me and only been in this job five years (this is my 19th year) and treats me like I don’t know what I’m doing in a sneaky way. Do you have any advice on how to handle this situation?

Speaking of our parents - how does the COMMANDMENT of honor your father & mother come N?? I'm what a lot of people consider "special needs" & I NEED my parents N some occasions 2 help me within day 2 day stuff. I'm battling a stomach problem & when I do what typically helps my symptoms my parents & my Dr come unglued because they're not seeing both sides of the problem. Please 🙏 4 me concerning that 1. I find it so hard to read the bible, understand the bible, or enjoy it, but i truly want a relationship with God. This was a great discussion, I think we understand that he did that but maybe not fully and definitely not as the term boundaries. He stood his ground but boundaries are what he was also trying to teach us. You are correct in saying that those who are not truly loving and caring for us will balk at the boundaries that we lay down. When we learn to set those boundaries, we then, learn what we can do for ourselves and for others.

Hey Zabrena 💖, I'm from your makeup channel and as soon as I heard you talk about setting up a faith based channel I couldn't wait to subscribe, so I watched your grwm today and was excited to hear that it was ready! I'm 42 years old, and have been married for 24 years this December, my husband and I have 4 boys! I recently lost my Mother, she was 68 years old when she passed in January and because of bad choices she made during my childhood I distanced myself from her and the rest of my family because I didn't know what would be get back to my mother and whom I could trust in my family! To make a long story short, due to a recent health scare concerning myself, my desire to be closer to the Lord has never been stronger! I'm trying desperately to right the wrongs in my life, to make every moment count and rekindle relationships with some.of my family members before they pass away.......
