I remember reading a biography about Jimmy Swaggart around 1980. The book revealed how Jimmy had such a burden for his cousin Jerry Lee Lewis in hopes he would one day return to Christ. I’m glad Jimmy’s prayers came true. How about those musicians and backup singers!

Up until the point of death, if one repents and is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, it is written that we will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38) and that He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and take them away (1 John 1:9). For all we know, "the creep" could have done this before he passed away. Also, it's not right to speak unwholesome talk, but that which is good for building others up. (Ephesians 4:29)

I saw this on Facebook, I thought it was the neatest thing, cousins singing and playing together. It's funny how not long after this, Jerry Lee Lewis died. One thing I didn't know, he had a stroke 3 years before this was recorded.

Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive the human race of their sins because we are all sinners. By His Grace we are forgiven and we are to forgive each other too. These two cousins are a testament of forgiveness in my opinion.

Thank you to all those who said a prayer for my dad. He is happy. Happy and doing well in his own apartment after waiting almost 3 yrs in a rehab. Thank you all so very much. Every Command broken constantly when famous and young but when death is knocking, it seems that all is forgotten and one turns to 'Jesus' for help. Does it work that way? Doubtful. Forgiveness? Is one, now that one's feeling the hardness of a deathbed, truly changed now that one is old and feeble? No. One is simply feeling sorry for oneself and would, if possible, continue in defiance if old age hadn't caught up with them.
