Jesus Takes the Pharisees to Task, Part 2 

In vv. 13-33, Jesus calls out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and those educated elites allied with them. His message was NOT an attack on Jewish ethnicity, a commentary of Judaism as a whole, or even applicable to every Pharisee of his day. But it was a pointed, and undeniably insulting, wake up call to those who had traded sincere devotion to God for the crass manipulation of religion for their own personal benefit. And in so doing, his comments remain just as relevant today as they were two thousand years ago.
